i think this has to do with the new tests for horsepower -- the hp rating given has the a/c, power steering, lights on, so thats where the 5-8 extra hp is going.
i'm assuming thats why the crank hp is more than the advertised hp

The new si is slow. slow slow slow. killed one the other day and the dude kept asking me what i had. i have a supercharger of course, but i didnt say that. i made him think his si was ____, cuz it is.

I know the tc with a blower will pull a new Si, you got a ____ load more torque.
I know the Si puts out 180 at the wheels stock. I just exagerated the 210 at the crank by adding 15% drive-T loss. As far as them being slow, that all depends on what you call slow?
They trap at an average of 93-95 mph. They are capable of high 14s stock with a decent driver. I know the honda isnt srt-ss-s/c tc fast, but it doesnt have a blower either. I have yet to see a s/c tc timeslip. I honestly dont even know what they trap at. Can you tell me? I didnt think there was that big of a difference between the two. Maybe the guy you raced couldnt drive, or maybe the tc is faster that I think it is?
My hp quotes were correct, I wasnt smoking anything. Right? How can you say otherwise?

I love the way the tC pulls clean all the way to 6,200. I know what Iam gettin - Once the blower is strapped on I know I will tell a difference. THats sick you didn't say anything about being supercharged. I want to be able to smoke SI's on a daily basis. Look at the Honda's engine compartment its not user friendly. Toyota I think has always been one step ahead and lately with how cheap they are pounding out the mobiles its insane. I am all about price vs. performance and with the tC I think you can't go wrong. I am not going to badge my car with anything its going to be as smooth as glass. NO badges just *****. OEM kit with my fogs and blower maybe a ZPI pully later down the road. I am looking for the TRD setup that will run me about 225hp after a slight tweak here and there. I think around 220hp will be fine especially with around 180 foot pounds of road eating torque.

Honda thinks they are all badass with the high redline. How often are you going to be hitting 8 thousand RPM's. --- hmmm 8 grand sounds pretty sweet but tC in third under some heavy gas will get you going to 80mph if you just over rev about 200rpm and then your hauling *****. After driving for awhile in this car I realized that hitting 6,500 in second is sometimes not a bad idea.

This is right on the money compared to magazine tests and what some scionlife members have recorded at the strip. I say this to validate the times I got w/ the supercharger. With the supercharger, my only other mods were springs, rear sway bar and 18" wheels w/ Parada Spec 2 tires. Nothing else that adds power. I recorded 0-60 times consistently between 6.3 and 6.5 seconds and 1320 times between 14.7 - 14.85 seconds.
Just an update. I have a couple of mods that I didn't have last fall. I did a quick run with my Beltronics meter today on the stock tires and did 0-60 in 6.25 and 1320 in 14.55. I have not been to a strip yet,so this is exciting for me.
