How long have you been around SL? When that kit started showing up, I swear, every other week someone had a blown motor. Or they would open the box to inspect parts and have to send it back for WG repair.

Nice work and terrific write up !!!!

Not to hijack but....

i heard a whisper around SL about turbo toyotas making an EL manifold with an EW option for the greddy Kit
Yes, that is true

Are they making a specific one for GReddy though, or are they using the manifold that they said was to replace the ZPI manifold? As the ZPI manifold would also fit the GReddy turbine
Both and the latter is false...the ZPI turbine flange and the Greddy turbine flange are totally different. Hence why I will have 2 diff. replacement manifolds.

But back to Eds thread....

Keep us posted and nice to have another boosted Scion in AZ.

One of these days we will all have to get together

Regards-

Todd

They both are Mistu turbo's. How is it different out of curiosity?

16G
18G
20G

Why would those 3 turbines bolt up differently? Looking back at his pic, it looks identical to my Manifolds flange.

Yes, they are but different turbine housings.

The Greddy is a T25 flange where the ZPI is a true mitsu flange......cause they are using factory Mitsu turbos....where Greddy is not.

Back on topic......

Well I got the new manifold last Friday but haven’t had time to swap it out until last night since I was waiting on a new manifold gasket. Swapped out the manifold and inspected the old one and found a hole between the welding of cylinder 3 and 4. Anyways everything seems normal so far. Here are the pics of the old manifold one showing the spot where the hole was and a light test.

So...did you just contact greddy and they sent you a new mani? You gotta send the old one back?

And which pics are you on your photobucket page...those girls got some TALL shoes!

Oh, and your "Headers and intake" thread in your sig is not there anymore.

Yea i called them up for a warranty and sent the old one back to them. They were pretty cool about it. Just had to explain in extensive detail since i could take a pic of it while it was in the car.

I'll have to fix the images for some reason it would let me post them.

And thanks for the heads up on the signature thing didn't even notice that.

no prob.
I was wondering if they sent the the replacement BEFORE you had to return the bad one, of if you had to return the bad one first.

well i think in a normal case you would have to send the bad on in first unless you provide good reason and pics showing damage. In my case the car is a DD so i explained everything in detail...plus work kinda helped me on this as well.
