I grinded the tamper proof bolt while the s/c was installed in the car. After you make the tamper proof flat on all four sides, you use a 12 point 15mm or 16mm socket and use a impact gun to break loose the bolt.I did it while the belt was still on and was tensioned that way the pulley does not spin as you remove it using the impact gun. It is very easy after you could make a socket fit on there. Good luck

^how easy was it to remove? I heard its only on with about 35lbs of force but dont know how true that is

im not sure about the exact torque, but when you use the impact gun it comes out instantly as long as you socket can grip it.

I wish I could tell you but i was lucky enough to have a spare bolt that has the exact pitch and size.

no because the pulley already comes on the supercharger. thats what the dealership told me.

^ nobody can get the hands on the key - you can grind down the sides and make a pattern out of it - that is the best way ....

i dont see the benefit in going through all this trouble and searching for tools to remove that tamper proof bolt if trd still wont warranty it. it has a white marking that is on the bolt and pulley. so if you remove it with the correct tool, the white marking is still tampered with so they'll know it was removed.

the only way around this to still have your car warrantied is if you buy a whole new s/c unit, replace the pulley (damage the bolt, put a new one) and swap the unit with the one on your car. this way the old s/c still has the pulley in tact with the bolt untampered. then if anything happens, swap the s/c unit with the old one.

this will only be helpful if you're planning to run a crazy setup where your motor can blow - which still will be difficult to do because if you're running more than 9.5 psi, you're hopefully using an ems, which will give trd enough reason to not warranty a new engine. why would this guy run an ems if we was running the stock 7psi pulley?

sounds like too much trouble for an extra few psi.

arguably you own the pulley, so you should be ableto get a key from TRD based upon that

exactly my s/c has no warranty i got i used i just want to be able to change the pulley eaisly.

someone already took the bolt off on their 07' search and ull find it..i forgot his username but basically he welded on a random bolt on the tamper proof bolt then just boom done..

which is what i would end up doing, just weld a nut on it, uninstall, then put back in with nut on, and grind nut back off

but not ever one has a welder and air compressor, so were looking for a easier way...

^ you dont want to use the same bolt after you weld to it - the bolt is balanced ...you will screw that balance up to some extent - you would put a normal bolt back into it.
