hey this is what i did to take off the bolt and remeber i didnt have an air compressior so just about everyone can do it as long they have something the can cut with. this is the bolt someone else posted cuz again i cant find mine. but thatnks to photo bucket im gonna show u the outline of the bolt.

then ur bolt should look like this

then i just got a open end wrench that fit the best and hit it with the hammer. remember it has locktite on it and the best way to take it off is with the belt ON and in gear.

7 to 9.5psi gives a normal 18-22whp depending on the car (and dyno) .... but it gets that darn lag out of the car ... i cant wait to go back to a higher psi

on nst.com it tells u that they took a scion tc and threw on the pulley and dynoed it and on the papers they say it gave it gave out 30 whp. but i think they also threw on header and exhaust and s-pipe but not sure. but anyway its a very noticable power. best bang for the price

I tried this same method. I have pictures of the cuts that i made on the bolt HERE
The cuts are not the problem, the problem that i find is that when you go to turn the bolt, the pulley turns with it. Im using a crescent wrench and i've tried holding it down with a strap wrench. but i cant win. maybe someone could help me understand how you can turn this bolt wihout the pulley moving?

I feel like im the only one who is doing this.

what really help for me was having the belt ON and in gear. I also head it helps if somones pushing the brakes but i never did that. i gotta hit the bolt like a impact wrench would cuz other wise the pulley will move but someone also told me that u can wedge something in between the belt and the pulley to help.

If you have a standard, you can leave it in gear, but an auto, ur best bet is an impact....thats the only way i could do my crank b/c the engine kept turning over....

The bolt is a McGard Intimidator bolt, Pep Boys carrys the tools from McGard necessary to remove the bolt (as well as some other parts stores) but I am not sure of the exact size. Has anyone ever found out which size tool it is?

The link here shows all different types and sizes and I want to know if anyone has tried any?
