Default 08 scion tc turbonetics kit advice and questions.

I have a 08 scion tc and I just got a turbonetics kit for it, and wanted to get some advice from those that have worked around this kit and get question that I might have.

1.What are the chances of me messing up my engine if I were to run the kit between 6 psi and 8 psi for daily driving.

2. Has any body messed up there engine from this kit running no more then 10 psi. If so what happened.

3. what gauges, boost control, and turbo do you recommend that I should get before putting this get on. Besides boost gauge.

4. Any upgrades you recommend that I should do to my car before I install the kit.

Nothing wrong with the turbonetics water cooled turbo. Works great.

And my brother has been on a turbonetics kit on his 06 at 10psi for 2 years at 310whp. No issues.

Are you going to use the UniChip that came with the kit?

Stick with the Unichip up to 9.5 psi and watch your AFR's. I have been running 9.5psi for over a year with 12.0-12.5/1 afrs and the car runs great. Also, do a boost leak check if you can. I had my tuner do one and found a few leaks. Car ran much better after fixing those.

Guys he can't use the Unichip because that's only for the '05-'07 I believe. I think his kit came with the F/IC.

Sky - with proper tuning, 6-8 psi will be super safe. Even at 10psi it will be safe. But again - make sure you have proper tuning.

I would recommend using 1step colder spark plugs. Stick with NGKs. 7 heat range iridium is what you want. Get an exhaust on the car.. it makes the kit feel so much better.

get rid of the kit, and go custom. I blew my 1st motor on a turbonetics kit. Check my profile it will give you some ideas.

Don't listen to GetIt

If someone blows up a motor, it's *rarely* the kit's fault.

Most likely it was install error, or tuning error. Or it could just be dumbass operator error (lack of maintenance, abuse, etc).

Thats true . I mean installation is not hard at all its pretty simple. Just maintence checks and be on top of everything. Blowing up a motor is rare most likely from abuse.

Go out to CFT - Central Florida Turbo - near Orlando I think.

But I don't know much about Tampa - I'm sure you can find someone out there.
