Default 08 supercharger

on some of the other smaller forums everyone raves about the SC and how its worth it and that it could get you 230 hp. but here everyone doesnt feel to stong about it and it seems like alot of problems come from getting one. i've also heard that you cant add anything to the 08 version(pulleys) so because of that its limited in its performance. what are your thoughts? also on a side note...whats the difference between hp, whp, bvp?

Personally I have the s/c and like it. However, if your looking for really big gains, go turbo.

i might be wrong lets say stock makes 161 HP(crank)which means coming from the FLYWHEEL then from the flywheel it goes to the wheels which makes less which makes around 140-148 range might be wrong....now the bpv comes with the supercharger when u buy it..u can change it to make more power(i think) and as far as the limited performance..ive seen people making 250 WHP with it so maybe 270-280 HP to the flywheel....

now for the 07-08 theres a couple of people that has changed their pulleys already..u just need ***** to start tryin to do it..they welded a bolt on the tamper proof bolt so they cud unbolt it...it worked...

so let me get this straight....if the 161hp they claim is the crank hp, then when they say that SC will bring the TC to 200hp is that at the crank or at the wheels? cause if its at the wheels then wouldnt it increase hp by 60 horse instead of the 40hp most people say?

okay, stock, the tc dynos 139 hp at the wheels, whp. with the supercharger, alot of people dynot 190 whp, so that is a gain of about 50 whp. but compared to the stock 160 bhp rated at the flywheel, and 200 bhp with the supercharger, they say it is a 40 bhp gain.

now, there are lots of gains taht can be made witht he supercharger.

you can add a smaller pulley to increase the peak boost to 9.5 psi, which will gain you 21 whp, so 211 whp total.

tuning with a piggyback can take you from 190 whp stock to 220-230 whp.

upgrading the intake, headers, s-pipe, and exhaust would probably get you about 10-20 whp.

now, if you combine these upgrades, a supercharger with a 9.5 psi pulley, intake/header/s-pipe/exhaust, maybe added larger injectors and tune with a piggyback ecu, you can make about 250 whp.

does that make enough sense for everyone?

draxcaliber forgot to mention that you can also run the water/meth injection to add more power to that too. they also have cams too. So with that, maybe you can add another 10-20hp? bringing your total to about 260-270hp depending on the tune? i think this is totally possible...

nah, i didn't forget them, i just don't like water/meth injection, because i don't want to forget to fill up the resevoir and hurt my car. and the cams are expensive, both to buy and install.

Search the water / meth FAQ forum for more info. it does not add any horsepower by itself. What it does do is cool the air temperature, allowing for a denser air mixture. The methenol also effectively increases the octane rating, allowing for safe operation of a leaner mixture. The HP gains are realized by running a leaner mixture, without changing the A/F ratio meth will not yield any gains.

yeah, i know, it cools the incoming air temperature so you can tune it better, run more boost etc for more power. but if the car is tuned to run on water/meth, and you run out...you can't drive it until you refill it.

and cams, they cost over 700 dollars form ripp mods, and are very expensive to install, and yield about a 15% gain *with supporting mods as it says on the site.
