Toyota won't do a standalone ecu or allow us to mod their stock one for this car. AEM needs to get off their horse and put drive by wire in their units. Until then, i wait until someone does have a true standalone. Sorry Dezod, i'll buy everything else from you guys but i dont see why i have to have two ECUs when someone should sit down and figure out the DBW. of course it's not your fault, i know. I'm just a stickler for clean setup and reduce the amount of problems later on.

It's partly the DBW, but also the stock PCM controls TONS of other options in the car including the speedo and such. So, the AEM crew has to get VERY complex with this issue.

Furthermore, the stock PCM still powering sevral functions, and such is not that bad. We have done this on the IS300 with great success. Several other apps have been successful when running this as well. The AEM 30-1070 box (RSX and Civic 01-05) retains the stock ECU for the multi-plex system ALSO the new SRT-4 box does as well......It is not to be feared by any means.

The only thing that sux is the dbw wire, the PCM system isnt a big deal at all....I wont have drive by wire much longer anyway ill be doing a custom intake manifold with a different throttle body

Well our race team has been tuning their hardcore N/A 07 tC on the Dezod AEM EMS this weekend. Should be done tuning today! Stay tuned for N/A results.
