so how many have successfully boosted and satisfied?...........and for how long?
here i always thought tc's engine is good to boost
so many problems and issues even with built motors
no wonder sti's and evo's are in the 30-40k range

i don't need power just 250whp for daily driving
but keep reading this kind of posts make me reconsider

ppl praised when you started, and they spitted when you failed
is it worth it?

Well there where a multitude of errors that lead to the demise of this install and kit. I think there are NUMEROUS factors that lead to failure of this particular car. I do not care to speak about them because the issue is moot and done.

With respect to longevity, I have some customers who have 65K miles BOOSTED on their turbo tCs with NO issues what-so-ever. The forumula is simple: Install, tune then enjoy. Most prefer to skip or prolong the tune and that is where trouble arises. I will end with a famous quote regarding turbo cars, which is utter truth:
Treat a turbo car like ____, and it will treat you like ____.

Nearly 2 years on boost (probably one of the longest lasting tC's on SL). Only problems thus far is having to rebuild the turbo after a long extensive abuse.

No, there are TCs that have been boosted for 2 years with TONS of miles on them, but they care not to post on here due to the constant drama that errupts. There is more drama, lies, deception and scandal than Elliot Spitzer's case right now. $1000/hr.

Hmm this is why I don't post here very much at all!

I boosted my auto tC about 2 yrs ago, with Dezod's kit. I drove it for nearly 60k miles without a single problem.
I recently had an issue where one of my fuel injectors failed and caused some problems like a cracked manifold and other things, due to the extreme lean condition that occured. But the engine was perfectly fine. I fixed what was broken, am back up and running like new.

That car is gone now though...

I've got a few new projects.

I'll just state the engine codes. No thread jacking!

FYI... I know will be updating this thread. We came to a very fair resolution and I think both parties are happy.

Joe and I spoke about what had happened. We came to a fair enough resolution and I am fine with how we settled things.

There was a mistake on the installation that caused the engine to grenade. It could have been due to the fact that it was 3am when we finished it. It could have been something else...

Joe had told me that morning to not push it too hard so we can run tests int he morning after. When it all happened I was in partial boost about 4k RPM. Me being ignorant, I could have been making boost when I was told not too. That could be to blame as well.

Either way, Joe over at Dezod is helping with the majority of the damage and we are both in a good situation as far as this mess goes.

Thank you to Joe for helping me take care of this issue. Unfortunately I will be selling the kit and trying to get a s/c... I was pulled over 4 times last week and had my hood popped twice while not being ticketed.

Sooo...Yay for DezodWest with the help. Boo for Cali restrictions.

Let's all have a good weekend now =D
