I'm new to the scion world and where the trusted sites are with site supporters like dezod and such . I mean fleebay is the best choice of all custom lol !! (Jk). . Anyone is always looking for a good deal I just like to ask first. . Thanks for all the help !!! And there are so many tc sites that say one thing and then another bc I read that the 3" is to big to run for exhaust .

3 inch is too big if you're na, you aren't so a 3 inch would be just fine

exactly. the engines need back pressure, so by going with 3" na you wouldn't get the back pressure needed. but the turbo gives all the back pressure needed so you can run an open dump off the turbo if you really wanted ;)

Definitely stick with the vendors that have already been mentioned in this thread. They are all supporters of the tC platform.

I really hope another vendor didn't tell you that 3" is too big for turbo setup. If so, you need to take no further advice from that person.

We have plenty of dyno to show that time after time that a 3" exhaust is not only the best but required to achieve your HP goal.

We have yet to see any Scion tC that have been on our dyno that even come close to 300WHP with a 2.25" or even 2.5" exhaust.

Again, the keyword here is a 3" exhaust. What brand you choose is up to you.

i never posted dynos but when i first got my turbo kit my car dynoed at 296whp and 302 wtq with stock s-pipe mid pipe and a tanabe axle back. i bought the ptuning 3inch and had the car re tuned and the car went from making 7.5psi due to back pressure to making 10psi and now i sit where i am at now. and all i did was change the exhaust and get 2 hours of tuning.

+1 on all being said. 2.5 if no Turbo, 3 if Turboed. Let her breathe...

Hey Jim, log manifold simple kit? What turbine A/R? What sized comp wheel?

Now you just creep to 10 from 7.5? Not enough wastegate flow. Technically not true gains. Same boost level with all things equal would be a great comparison.

Not to derail this convo, but I am getting the gist that many are saying 3" is required to make 300whp regardless of manifodl and turbine selection? I want to make sure we are all on the same page here.

If i bring my car there and dyno over 300hp with stock exhaust will you give me a 3" exhaust. Havnt heard the new one yet i dont think.

If I had a dollar for every TC and XB2 I've seen hit 300 whp with anything from stock to 2.5" exhaust I wouldn't be rich, but I could buy myself a really good steak dinner... 3" may be ideal but it's certainly not necessary for 300 whp.

BTW, to the OP: If you already have a good Unichip tuner or tuning software you can easily add part throttle (closed loop) fuel enrichment with the $200 Split Second Enricher. The FIC works a lot better on paper than it does in real life. IMO the FIC is a buggy POS. YMMV.

309 hp and 319 tq at the wheels on a mustang dyno.

POS TT turbo kit EL manifold (had to have the intercooler cleaned of metal shavings, IC pipes extended 1 ½” and other by 1” both too short, maf flange welded wrong had to get cut and rewelded, dp fixed to fit the turbo and exhaust, replaced torn BOV diaphragm) (boost creep as well)
Ptuning 3” exhaust
Stock engine and transmission

interesting ... must be a dyna pack. I have seen tc's get tuned probably 50 to 80 times if I were to guess, I haven't seen one break 300whp with anything less than a 3'' except maybe once with built motor running more than 14psi...

i've seen many tc dyno's over 300 on a mustang dyno with just a turbo kit anywhere from 8-10psi

Some of them were Dynapack results and I'm also counting results over 295 whp since it's so close and could be over 300 on another day. Here's an interesting result from an XB still running the stock 2" in, 1.8" out "scuba tank" and 1.8" mid-pipe:

It's a Dynapack but I find it hard to believe that it reads over 60 whp (20%) higher than another dyno.

Dynapacks read so high dude that I don't even respect the numbers that come from them. I'll never dyno on a Dynapack. No offense to anyone that uses it, it's just personal preference.
