I hear ya. I really don't know what to believe when it comes to dyno numbers from different dynos. The highest IHE XB dyno results I've seen were from a Mustang, which came as big surprise to me. A Dynapack measured only 220 whp for my A/T XB yet it runs the 1/4 in 14.3 @97 mph (over 2 secs quicker than stock) while weighing about 3500 lbs with me in it. If it read 20% high I'd have 176 whp and no way that's moving 3500 lbs through the 1/4 that quickly.

I thought I read somewhere that a dynapack has a mode that will add in a correction factor to put out the same numbers as a mustang dyno. I’m with you scionfred your way more than 176whp to get those times.

300whp is easilly doable on 2.5" - when I made 405whp/422wtq last year on the 60-1 and 18 psi it was with a full 2.5" exhaust. 3" helps spool times quite a bit, and top end when you get to big boy land. SO yeah, 3" is more efficient, but you will have no prob getting to 300whp with 2.5"

I think this lil debate is too loose. Sure you can get over 300whp without a 3'' exhaust, but it is like pulling teeth. Also, different types of dynos read differently as everyone is aware... but many shops use a correction factor without informing the customer. Ripp modds dyno dynamics is a prime example.
If you want real life accurate whp numbers, weigh your car with you in it (for real, not guessing) and note the trap speed in the 1/4. Then use this.... http://www.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html It is a proven equation .
If you truly believe that you are above 300whp slapping on a turbo kit at 8psi with a stock exhaust or even a 2.5''.... reality will slap you right across the face if you ever run next to somebody like Travis or Slikk. A good real life example is the e town time attack 2 years ago... we had a stock motor in our tC at around 330whp. Westbury Scion/DEZOD sponsered tC(whatever happened to him? ) claimed over 420whp if I remember correctly. After Ross passed him on the strait as if he were sitting still, he claimed we were lying about our hp numbers. I think reality finally sunk in at the fact he had been lying to himself later on.
Ptuning dyno numbers are true real world numbers. I work there, so that is my reference. If somebody wants to break 300whp on our dyno with 9psi with less than a 3'' exhaust.... I welcome that challenge . It will NEVER happen unless you are running nitromethane.

You do not need 3" exhaust just to make 300 or a little more 2.5" will do fine just as long as you have a well built turbo setup, fuel system, and a good tune.

My buddy Homerhitta did 292.5 whp and 300.5 wtq on a dyno dynamics at 8 psi with 2.5" exhaust, if that counts. This was with stock fuel system, 550cc, Greddy EMU, Treadstone mani and 50 trim T3/T04E with .48 A/R hot side. Not quite 300whp but I think we can all agree that it would easily be over 300 at 10 psi. His build thread.

BTW, I tried that 1/4 trap speed calculator you linked to and it said I have 250 whp but the "high reading" Dynapack only measured 216 whp. So much for comparing results from different dynos and shops...

Never dynoed. Was always street tuned. Something tells me though with the way the car is now and how it use to be, I wouldn't have broken 300whp on PTuning's dyno with the old ZPI setup.
My 326whp on PTuning's dyno makes my old ZPI setup feel like it was N/A'ed...lol. She pulls pretty dang strong. Strong enough to run a 500hp E55 AMG Benz.
I spool the same as my small A/R 20g turbo that I use to run on the 2.5" and log manifold ZPI kit. 3" + dual BB does not make me miss my quick spooling 20g. Top end now is like 3times the amount back then.

I hardly think ptunings dyno should be the be all end all in this situation its a very very conservative dyno I think a mustang dyno sits in the middle as far as dynos go. That's just how it seems like this convo has gone. If it doesn't make 300 on ptunings dyno then it doesn't make 300

I didn't know that and I'll take your word for it. I thought his whp and wtq seemed too high for only 8psi. I wish shops wouldn't do crap like that. If they do they should at least disclose it clearly on the result sheets.
