end of this month im going back and we are putting the precision intercooler thats capable of 750whp on and re working some piping and a few other tiny issues and retuning on c16. It'll see 500whp then and thats not touching the head. Tonight we suffered from a bad case of heatsoak on the intercooler, that damn was getting hot! Its a cheap ebay intercooler, they suck so Iam gonna spend the cash for the good ____ and go back.

good to know. cant wait till next week when mine gets shiped. wihle your busy chasing high numbers on the dyno, i'll be chasing low numbers on the track. also is there any chance we could get some enginebay pics?

What octane was that on? Also, I'm curious about that crazy tourqe curve. It's only 500 (or less) RPM shy of your power curve. Typically you'll see tourqe come in ~2k RPM faster than HP, then hold max tq for a while then fall off till the HP passes (and they cris-cross.

How does the car feel with TQ coming in so late? And what's with the stock rev-limiter?

Oh and BTW... GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!

Changing the intercooler won't do anything for power unless it's choking your flow. The ebay intercoolers are pretty good with flow, just not good at cooling. Looking at your dyno, seems your torque is dropping pretty fast, my guess is you've hit your V/E wall and now will need headwork for any real power gains. Contact Rippmods and get some turbo cams. You should see your 50whp+ immediately and with no additional boost.

Touching the intercooler was equal to like touching manifold almost. It was pretty bad.

Brett, ill be going to the track too ;)

If you're saying this, your missing the primary fundamental of intercooling. Dropping charge temps and keeping the air cool and dense. This can create more power and make it less prone to dentonation. Probably nothing to write home about unless it was a severe lack in cooling or choking the car more than helping as you stated.

True he prob hit the VE wall of this motor, which I suspected to be hit at 400 though. But, not to worrry, we have Jeff covered.

So that means your car will lose power as you continue to run. There are two aspects to an intercooler.

1) Flow. This determines how much power you can make
2) Heat transfer. This determines how long you can make that power.

The Ebay intercoolers are good at 1 and horrible at 2. Yes, you need a new intercooler, but no it will not change your peak Dyno numbers. Hope that makes sense.
