Hey bro I'm right there with you. I'm about to get a tune and see where I'm going with my little s/c trail. Im however only shooting for 340ish nothing major. We on the s/c side of the house support you man! Some people dont see it like we do, thats what makes us different. If I wanted to go fast I'd get a turbo and emanage and call it good. But everyone I know has a turbo tc... I want to be that guy knowned for the s/c that keeps up with built turbos... I'll let you know how I come along. I'm only waiting on the money for the tune and go from there.. After my tune that will be my base line.

Token, as much as I want to support the S/C people, its not going to happen. Icenine was close, but this thread is a year old, and he never made it to 400.
The enigne isnt the limit for the SC the SC is. Best of luck and yo know I am here to support you, but I dont se it happening.

You are already dissapointed in the SC. Even with 340 HP its not going to be able to hang with a 280-300WHP t/C tC.

Most I ever saw out of mine was 237 to the wheels, and that was still only good enough for a 14.7 in the quarter. I ran 14.9 with 191 to the wheels. Not a huge increase, yet 40+ more HP.

Best of luck man!!!

(oh and buy my gauges!!!)

you guys make it sound like a 300-350whp car isnt fast. ha.

i do get ya though that if you are looking for a 280+whp car a turbo is good but if you own an older tc (like the 05) you can pick up that s/c at a darn good price and learn about FI cars ...then get the 9.5lb pulley and you now have a quick car that will surely be fun to drive.

No seriously, no tC will hit 450 at the wheels with a S/C, without the help from nitrous, on a stock block.

There is no way possible the s/c can get anywhere near 450whp - that blower is not designed for such high output w/o failure. its been proven.

Not just that, but 450whp on a S/C tC is about the equivalent to a 600whp turbo tC. I don't think the OP knows that a S/C puts a hefty drag on the engine.

I need to get a few things looked at on my car then im going to upgrade to my other pulley and I should have around 260whp on my s/c - and that alone is going to be a blast to drive. As long as its fun I dont care what the peak hp # is

Either way, 260whp will be fast, but I'd just much rather have that random kick in the ___ from the turbo spooling up. An un-expected pull feels a lot faster than an expected one, that's why cars always feel faster from the passenger seat.

^ ya know .... being in a passenger seat does feel faster when you are in someone elses car. Thats funny you said that cause ive thought that a few times when in other peoples cars. If I didnt have the s/c maybe I would have gone turbo - my clutch is redone so I can do whatever power mods I want. 260whp is quick for sure - which is why i think its funny when some of the turbo guys are saying they are mad they only have 280 or 300whp. ha. Your taking a 20k car and putting a 5k kit on it to produce FAST results. Im very happy with my tC over the years. Overall it was a great choice and i have very little negative things to say.

LOL Nick I already got gauges bro LOL. Anyways I see your guy's point. But I think some of you guys fail to see ours (s/c guys).. Man its hard to explain, anyone can do a turbo.. To do a big turbo setup no, But people think there are limits to the s/c.. Well I'm here to tell you I'll pass those.

I'm not saying some of you guys dont believe but I know there are people out there that think I'm crazy... But my goal is my goal... I dont want to be like everyone else and I want to make a statment.. DFW my s/c tc.. Nuff said. So I'm already trying to get some other ideas of what I can do after internal to pull out some more power.. I'll ask around and maybe be able to put close to 280 after a pulley and tune.. After that I have to pay off some bills and then I'm going at it full force again..

^ its the point that the s/c is not the best blower for high hp setups. It really isnt the point that people can't get high hp out of it - it wont last. Person after person after person has proved this.
