go Reaper!...good luck with this...and for all the haters about the "its only a 2.4L" thing...look at the rsx/si crew that has a k20 block running high hp/trq numbers as well.....
much respect coming from a 8cyl to a 4cyl...have fun saving money on gas....youll save enough to help on your build..lol j/k

i just tell the truth man.
sometimes truth hurtsz people.
i ain't seeing the 2.4 Liter spoolin the GT40.
i owe a V6 turbo with head work and all i could spool the GT37 and now the GT40.
but i have a lot more discplacement.
anyway good luck reaper.
Prove me wrong!

send me video.
i'd be glad to take a look.
spool eficiently i doubth about it.
maybe spoolin it at 6000 RPM is not eficiently spoolin for me.an the rev cut out at 7000 RPM.

Plus I guess you dont pay much attention to all the 1.8 and 2.0L Honda motors running GT4294's and GT4202's.
+ you also have to take in consideration the manifold design....twin scroll turbo, when used with a twin scroll manifold has a tremendous effect when using a large sized turbo on a small displacement motor.

Todd

so whats the big diff here.... on i'm sorry its 1mm trim bigger. i really don't think that'll be a problem

According to Garrett The GT40 series only needs 2.0-6.0* liters of displacement. It will take some time to reach full boost, but once there he will be happy with the results.

A turbo will spool at idle. Spool meaning spin.

make your own rulez.
and for sure don't trust manufacturers specs.

I have never done anything with turbos before, and I don't have any engineering experience with them. However, I do have a question:
Would it be possible to build a dual turbo motor? What are the drawbacks of having one smaller and one larger turbo, one for lower RPM use, and a second one for higher RPM use? Also, can you use the exhaust gasses from the smaller turbo (from two cylinders) and send it over to a second, larger turbo (using it and the other two cylinders)?
I don't know the dynamics of what is involved. It just seems to me that if this type of setup is in any way feasible, it might give you the boost and performance that you are looking for. But again, I am ignorant of the engineering aspects or the feasibility of this type of setup.
If I get flamed, I probably deserve it , but I had to ask...
Thank you for your patience...
