Default AEM F/IC and SAFC II/NEO

I have a friend who is very good with a SAFC and I got a friend selling one for $100. And, if I could go that route I could save $240 by not buying the F/IC.

But, I read that your could not tune the tC with the SAFC underneath 4000rpms b/c you get a cel. I would definately need to get tuned under 4000rpms being as I'm gonna be boosting my car middle of next week.

So, if anyone knows anything about the 4000 rpm thing. Let me know Im trying to buy either of the two by tomorrow afternoon.

THE SAFC is a hacked unit. Don't waste your time with it. I would recommend just going straight to the FIC and not wasting time and/or $$

The FIC has TONS more control. Always in stock!

Yes, get the F/IC and save yourself loads of headaches. There is a reason no one on this board boosted runs the SAFC, IT SUCKS! And the 4000rpm thing your talking about is open loop and closed loop. Under 4k rpm, our cars are in a closed loop fuel setting. That means our computer is keeping the AFR's to a stoich 14.7 air to fuel ratio. Its set like this for gas mileage consumption and exhaust emissions. Once you go above 4k rpm, it switches to a open loop fuel map. That is when hooking up an F/IC is beneficial as you can tune those fuel parameters. ONe thing to note too is, the F/IC allows you to tune closed loop fuel settings. Long story short, get the AEM unit.
