AEM FIC success - Paul and Todd please chime in too

Year of vehicle:2008
Tranny: 5 speed
Injector size: 550 cc
MAF piping size: 2.5 inch
Recirc BOV: no
Upgraded Fuel pump: no
UEGO: yes
FIC Version: 3.01
Tune: self-street tuned
Actualy had RIPP tune it - threw away their tune because it was garbage!
Theres alot of confusion with the F/IC - many tuners dont understand the concept of changing the o2 or MAF maps to get more or less fuel out of the car, they stick to the fuel map to map fuel. Yes there was an issue with the crank shaft sensor but so far the resistor has fixed that issue. Im happy with the f/ic because it allows you to adjust fuel trims everywhere where other computers only allow you to adjust under boost. One downside is that the F/IC doesnt let you advance timing, which isnt really a problem but for OPTIMAL tuning you might want to advance to reduce turbo lag. So far my street tune is running pretty good, there are a few things i would change about the F/IC but for the most part it is a good unit, its just alot of user-error (besides the automatic issues) I would say go for it, just dont give up when your trying to tune it. Get maps from other people who got it working and look at what they did, pm me and ill send you my map and the one ripp made for me, you will see what a difference it makes by simply changing the MAF values.
*disclaimer - any of the above could be wrong, i just learned all of this myself over the past month. I am not a professional tuner, nor even close.

Tune: Half ___ tune then street tuned by me
I had the same problem as above at first with the crank position sensor. I also put the resistor in and it has eliminated the problem. I had a problem with bad idle. I ended up pulling 10 deg of timing and setting my afr with the voltage table to 13afr at idle and now it idles better than stock. I got an obd scanner that looks at fuel trims and did a much better tune in vacuum than my tuner. The car runs absolutely great now. Spins the tires right through first and second and a lil into third gear

Year of vehicle- 2006
Tranny- Auto
Injector size- 550 cc
MAF piping size- 2.5
Recirc BOV- No
Upgraded fuel pump- No
UEGO- Yes
FIC verizon- Dont know off top of my head
Tune- Pre tuned from someone else who had the same turbo set up
Well just went and installed the AEM F/IC and 550 cc injectors to the car and I let the car sit for one day. Went out to start it and the battery couldnt even turn the car over. Great!! I have an 06 auto tc zpi stage 1 set up with a Bloomslang PnP harness.
I guess you can add me to the issue list!

over a month, multiple dyno sessions and a $2000.00+ dyno bill not inlcuding parts.....
The issues with the AEM FIC can be worked out and we now have a really good idea of what it takes to make it right
Regards-
Todd

none of them have posted saying there are problems...and i don't see why there would be problems...the way it's worked, the f/ic would be hte best one considering you can tune partial boost and with the sC you are most likely in partial boost alot.

Year of vehicle:2006
Tranny: 5 speed
Injector size: 550 cc
MAF piping size: 2.5 inch
Recirc BPV: yes
Upgraded Fuel pump: no
UEGO: yes
FIC Version: 3.01
Tune: Dezod Tune
22000 Miles yesterday.
Dezod tuned my FIC, and it is almost perfect. It took a minute to work with the stock ECU, but now it is smoooth. Runs great with 500cc Injectors and 10.5lb pulley.

This is interesting : Lovefab, a well respected tuner/fabricator of Hondas has really good success with their turbo NSX and FIC.
