For all of you that go to Rippmods!
yoo i just want 2 send out a warning to people that go to rippmods, I had an issue with them and i want 2 share it....i dont want this 2 happen anyone else on scionlife, I use to get my car tuned at rippmods with perry, couple mouth ago i had an issue, with my car it wouldnt start because i was messing around the the intake filter and i cut 1 of the wire on the MAF sensor, and i couldnt figure wat the problem was so i called up rippmods, and "Ross" the own told me to have it towed over.... so i did, i drop it off, and it was there for about a week and a half, they telling me it was my ecu, so they started ripping out my ecu and tryed a brand new 1...nothing was working....so finally i get a call from them they said they fixed it and i can come pick it up....so i had my friend drive me over there to pick it up...when i got there "ross" was telling me something is wrong with my motor, and they were doing compression test and leak down tests and the numbers that they got back werent so good....i didnt believe him...so i called back the next day and ask for perry so i can get a tune....so they got me 2 come by....now before i drop my car off at the time it was making 350whp....so i get there and perry put it on the dyno and he does some tunning, and i see the numbers are only making 250whp, and im like wtf is going on....so ross was like i told u something is wrong with your motor...because i had the motor built and hes like he didnt built it right....and perry was saying the samething...so i took my car home and called up the guy that built my motor and told him wat happened....so i took it over there and ran test and everything was coming out fine...so we put it on the dyno...and he got my car back to running 350whp....and he said that someone messing around with your tunning.....and my motor is was running 100% nothing was wrong with it...so i dont know wat u think, but i think something was alittle fish and for everyone 2 watch out, because i have had problems with rippmods in the past giving me bullsh!t

i wasnt trying to mess with my air sensor, i was messing around with my intake, because i was changing my air filter and i cut the wire some how, i have NO idea how i did it but it happened, and yes we did compare the maps on the emanage to compare the tuning and something wasnt right for because "perry" is supposed to be a "good tuner" so was things there that a good tuner wouldnt have done

wow 410 is impressive... im actually about to start my own motor build ... getting the fuel stuff right now actually.

lol no prob man, just stay away from there if i was you, but if u need a place 2 go for ur motor, let me know i will give u the number for the shop i went to....there the best, i wouldnt trust anyone else

well i appreciate that man! yea ill let you know when im at that point in the build. id say im doing a pretty conservative build since we are talkin bout my DD... 400 whp/4xx wtq is what im shooting for

Very surprising to hear that. Did Perry do the tuning for sure? I know when I had my turbo installed at titan I was told they used the base map and I paid for a tune. Then I find out they did tune it but it wasn't their normal tuner and the map was a piece of crap. If I was you I'd take it to someone else to do a compression test just in case. I know you trust this other place but I know how everyone thought Kenny Strickler was such a great tuner too. I can't even count how much BS he feed to one of his loyal customers about what was wrong with his car. Hell, you can even do the test yourself. I think you can borrow the tool from autozone.

perry does suck LOL i did deal with him once and he didn't know what he was doing so left asap and ross is a very good talker/saleperson he's good at pushing the wrong things off on people with out really searching. +1 for watch out for them they suck

Wow, this is shocking. There's has been nothing but good things said about them for the last couple years. Wish more people stepped forward. Wonder if it has to do with built tc motors. Most of the guys that said they were great were all running stock motors with turbos.
