did you use teflon tape? if so did you maybe get a piece of it clogging up the T fitting? are ther any knock sounds?

I got 20 more questions

yes, I did use teflon tape. I'm not sure if its clogging up the port or not. No knocking noise that i know of.

im just real curious that the t fitting may be cloged...if you really dont have oil pressure then you would prolly hear some bad ___ knocking and "valve chatter" sounds comeing from the head...and since you have both sensors in the exact same area it would lead me to think its cloged...id take the T fitting off along with all the sensors, inspect and reinstall...i hope its as simple as that...

my friend asked me if i was using an oil restrictor to the turbo and I said that wasn't. I don't think I am atleast. He said that the extra volume going to the turbo is creating less overall pressure. He is suggesting i get one of these before my turbo goes bad.

I'm not using an oil resistor and don't have any trouble with low pressure.

hmm, what pressure are you at at idle jon? My friend suggest that i get a restrictor regardless because it makes the turbo last longer. He was saying too much pressure will cause the seals to go bad faster. Its not life or death, but unnecessary wear.

Warm idle is about 6-8PSI.

ya man try adding a bit more of oil because once you think bout it when you are checking the oil you are getting the reading for the oil that is in the motor and you miss out that their is still oil in the turbo and lines.

yeah oil restrictor helps to keep the oil pressure up, i have a smaller restrictor as the one you posted and when i installed it my oil pressure went few psi higher.. but im gonna suggest adding a bit more of oil though

kev if your turbo is a bb then yes you do need a restricter, if its bushing then no you dont need one...you have a turbo almost identical to mine i think and if thats the case then I highly doubt you need a restricter...

bushing turbos can withstand more than 60psi of oil pressure

as a matter of fact bushing turbo's need a certain amount of pressure in order to operate correctly.

i have non-ball bearing turbo (non water cooled). I'm going to add more oil a bit later when i have a chance to pick some up. I'm going to talk to todd about that restrictor when he calls me later.

that is still a debate for journal bearing to use a restrictor.. most non BB dont use restrictors and does fine, but if you have some high oil pressure on the car, that is the most determining factor of using one.. remember journal bearings floats on oil for lubrication and some cooling so if you restrict oil flow when you dont need to, its not gonna be good either

do me a big favor and take the t-fitting off and sensors and make sure they are clean (not clogged)...it will only take 20min at most

sweet...cause its bugging me to death...lol...well prolly not as much as you though...lol

the oil feed lines should be the same size for all the simple kits as well as most other kits for that matter and iv never seen this problem come up before...its just bugging me to find out...

try and blow through the fittings as well as stick some wire through them...then check the hole on the head that your feed line connects to...make sure its clear of obstructions...good luck brethren

FML. I thought i would try to use a spare feed line that todd sent me. Bad idea. One the ends had a leak at the swivel and now I have a huge mess to clean up now. I'll see you guys in about two days as i try to degrease my engine bay.
