i love how people are like dude you'll lose 2psi.

MORONS: YOU'LL LOSE 2 PSI WITH ANY INTERCOOLER.

its called pressure drop / head loss, it happens with anything.

so my point. run one if you want don't listen to these people that think they know something

When I had my s/c I was going to do a pwr barrel liquid intercooler, it would be alot easier to fit than a fmic.

Ummm.. yea, this is not like a turbo when the wastegate can spool two more pounds to hit the target boost! U will lose 2 pounds and not be able to make up for it!

that's not true.. you just have to get a smaller pulley

also to the OP and anyone else looking to do this here is a good read for ya

the 14psi pully is the smallest pully we can run, the only other option is to over rev, which is alot of money to have the LOOK of a FMIC as the OP wanted

Corrected for Nebster:

Go with A2W. Smaller setup, fewer bends. 1/2 psi drop. Be prepared tp spend some scratch. I spec'd it a while ago. Expect to spend 800-1200 for the right setup.

either way you'll lose efficiency and thus pressure, its about the mechanical losses not necessarily the design of the intercooler. the more bends in the pipe = more pressure drop, more surface roughness = more pressure drop.

thus an a2a, a2w will both result in pressure drops,

you're not smart are you?

the point is this.

you lose 2 psi no matter what set up you run. it doesn't matter if its turbo or s/c or anything. adjusting the boost is not the point. you will lose 2 psi or whatever (its probably more) no matter what system you run

One sticking point. .5 psi is a helluva lot better than 2.0 psi drop. you can lose about .5 just from belt slip/wear. It's marginal. The s/c configuration screams A2W.

expanding on neb's last point...it really makes little sense on a car with this little boost to say...let me up the boost on my pulley by the same amount I'll lose on an A2A.
Do you really think you'll tune out the difference and make 30 more whp? Don't bet on it. And don't tell me it's now about being "safe". You just negated yourself.

Also, you never hit the max psi on the s/c until just at redline. How often do you hit that? Where is your RPM sustained in driving.?
You can cruise at 70mph on the hway and not even be in boost.
You don't even start making boost until around 3k...so now it would be around, idk 3.5k...just guessing. Is it really worth it?

If you are just doing it for looks, then do like I said, get 30 feet of bling bling chrome and blanket your engine bay with meaningless pipe. Don't even bother connecting it to anything. Hey, those guys from AIT put together a turbo/sc that doesn't even run! You can be like them.

So i decided to continue with this project, i am just going to have to wait till the pulley gets here along with the core which i am getting from elevationtc..I also am ordering some 700cc injectors. Updates will be in the next couple weeks.

Ok.. so im trying to figure out if i really need 700cc injectors, elevation thinks to run this setup you need even bigger ones. I just dont understand how icenine ran 12psi with 570cc. I am exspecting to be around the same with the pressure drop. So why would i need more then that? Can someone explain? Im going to talk to my tuner tomorrow anyway, i just want more opinions
