i think it would be a good idea if everyone with the trd supercharger posted a video or audio clip of what their SC sounds like. This way everyone can compare their SC to everyone elses'. also if in the future you feel that your SC doesn't sound the same you can repost your old video with a new one and everyone here can help that person decide if it does sound different, and give them advise on what they should do.

My first s/c sounded like that at idle. The second one didn't but that one also burned up a bearing.

no kidding - interesting. When I had my methanol put in I asked about the same kind of noise. Are you hearing it from the blower side or the pulley side?

The heavy knocking came from the blower side, the second was there but not nearly as noticeable. The chirping on the pulley side is what I was more or less refering to. It didn't always do it, something that kind of came on near the end of it's short lived life.

Oh - i have both of those noises. The blower side .... the owners dad had me put a drs stethoscope w/o the end piece ... up to a screw driver that he was holding on the gears of the blower. The way the s/c is designed it makes that noise. The pulley noise is something that I did not hear when I first had my s/c. I am going to ask the dealer to put whatever kind of lube on there. Or i whatever might fix that. As far as I know we have a 60k warranty on the s/c anyway.

Mine is opposite of this. It's noisiest when it's warmed up. It's not too bad when I first start it up in the morning.

I dropped it off at the dealership this evening for them to do the replacement tomorrow (Tuesday). I should be able to pick it up tomorrow after work. In the mean time, they've hooked me up with a new Prius, which is actually a lot of fun to drive! It's like a video game where you try to charge up the battery and watch the gas mileage. Silly I know, but fun.

I just picked up the car from the dealer. They replaced the s/c and I can't believe how different it sounds. Much better! I don't remember it ever sounding this good, so maybe my other one was flawed from the start or I just don't remember how good it sounded (probably more likely).

Very big thanks to Scion of Lake City for fixing it, all under warranty, with no questions asked, and even paying for my loaner car.

Now let's just hope this s/c holds up better than my old one did!

Congrats J on the new supercharger. It probably sounds better becuase they are using the new reinforced parts that will be standard on the 07 version. Again, glad to hear props for excellent warranty and customer service!
