hmmm no regrets here other then

1. not doing it sooner

2. not getting a pre-tapped oil pan

other than that man take it as it comes but be prepared for the worst and be prepared to wake up and have to drive to work and your car not wanna run with out a proper tune.......thats the situation im in now im pretty sure java, meaty, jax and ace can all agree on this one there are just some days where you nothin goes right.....but once you get tuned and everything done it should be smooth sailing...........ohh and yeah zip-ties FTW lol

All I have to say to the OP is this:

Get your priorities right. If you HAVE the time and dedication to constantly work on/worry about your car and have the FUNDING to do so...by all means, turbo it.

If you like to be able to hop in your car and not have to warm it up for 15 min and just go you will be SOL.

I have gone from stock to full 180whp NA to 260whp boosted. Know what? I wish I had stuck with NA for the reliability.

Once that went out the window so did my car.

I sold the tC today and I will be buying an Si tomorrow.

GG tC. It was fun =D

For the money, the WRX, MS3, SS, Cooper-S, all offer more bang for the buck.

Except all of those names with SS/Turbo related to them = ____ty gas mileage and more insurance.

That is why I stepped away from the STi...370 a month for the car plus 170 for insurance for a used car that gets 23 mpg =/

No ty.

Too bad the S2k is 2 seater or I would have been all over it. I need mah space!

And honestly...I do not want boost. At all. In any form.

MazdaSPEED3 gets the same milage as the Si and insurance is about the same (the quote I got for the MS3 wasn't much more to insurance than my tC was).

So it's more like;
People with a horrible record = high insurance cost = will be in boost 90% of the time = bad gas milage = more wear and tear

Honestly, if you're asking these questions, I don't think Turbo is for you. You're GOING to run into problems, and you're GOING to spend more money than you want to or even expected to.

That having been said, there's nothing like the instant respect you get while driving a turbo tC. Especially when you spank the crap out of a car that "should" be a lot faster than you.

IMO, as long as your cost doesn't exceed an EVO or Sti, you're ok.

Boost is great as long as you're aware of the risks. There are relatively few people who've taken their tC's beyond bolt on turbo kits, so it's reasonable to expect there to be quite a few failures.

I wouldn't let that be a deterrent though. ;)
