With much better kits on the market, I'm assuming most people don't. If you want a turbo try this! Its not a bad BASIC kit tho.

There's still a handful of people running the Turbonetics kit... like me! I've modified it, but it's still good in my opinion especially if you find a nice deal.

Things that I will mention...
I have a v1 kit sooooo
-Dump tube was a flex pipe that was broken when I bought the kit used so I got a new one refabbed (The v2 with the slip fit dump tube doesn't have problems with failure)

-Down pipe bracket that mounts to the existing OEM manifold bracket on the engine is slightly off (not sure if it's off on the v2 kit though)

-Although I have the v1 kit, the turbo that came with my used v1 kit was rebuilt with the water and oil cooled center housing with the water line kit. *Solely oil cooled E50 turbos had some tendencies to blow seals, but the water cooled ones are very reliable. I have almost 12k on my turbo running 12psi for the majority and have zero leaks or shaft play!

-I'm running the Dezod/APR X1 engine management system. Unless you have an available tuner that tunes the Unichip then I'd ditch it for an AEM FIC at the very least.

-For the record I'm running a TiAL wg, TiAL bov, and I modified the piping to run a blow-through set up while the rest is unchanged.

Hmmm... I think that's all I have to say really. If it's a good deal and you have a good tuner available to you then I say go for it! It's a really fun kit and at 12psi I was able to run 13.6s @111mph on stock wheels/tires. Any questions let me know...

I have had a t'netics water cooled kit with an FIC for over a year now. Just like XPRTC said the downpipe bracket won't bolt up. I would recommend motor mounts so there is not so much engine movement. Everything fits great so overall it's been a great kit... Tune means everything..right now it's running real rich in open loop just like last summer. Hopefully you can find someone that can tune it and keep with it when the seasons change. Then again maybe I'm a special case. Oh and my BOV flutters a lot, which is probably why XPR changed his. I don't think it harms anything though.

I still have it goin on two years now and still pleased. Bought the v2 kit right when Turbonetics sold the rights to Treadstone. Only issue like everyone has is the down pipe bolt doesn't come close, so I left it out. It's over all a well built, well designed kit.

For those that have the T-kit what S-pipe if any are you using for the V2 downpipe Im trying to buy one, but do not know what works best for this kit.

Anything that has an OEM fit will work. I don't know what size your mid-pipe and exhaust is but I went with the Invidia S-pipe which is a 2.5" inside diameter as is my Tsudo mid and Greddy SE axle back

Still running turbonetics kit since may of 2006...lol. I changed the original turbo, wastegate, now running a comp turbo with water cooled, and changed to aem fic. Pushing 325whp on 14psi. Still have the original bov, I love the way it makes that flaterring noise.

Just have a shop fabricate/weld that bottom bolt that doesnt line up, thats what I did and added a flex pipe, 3 inch catless all the way, lol.

My pipes by the intercooler started to rust, so every now and then I take my bumper off, and wipe my pipes clean. I might have it repainted when I have the budget. Over its a reliable kit, of course theres the usual wear and tear

The Uni-chip was tuned for 8psi out of the box. If it hasn't been tuned for 10psi I wouldn't push it. Get something someone around you can tune well and I would get larger than 550cc injectors.
