Default Best Turbo for 2.4L Engine

Yo,

I am really curious about what turbo would be best fit for a 2.4L engine. So far i have no clue on what turbo's are good or bad. If you have any expertise in this please let me know and drop a line.

THANKS

that's a very broad question. give us an estimated hp that you want and i'm sure a turbo savvy member will enlighten on the subject. best bet is to search this forum for a turbo kit that you like and research the turbo they use for what kind of power you want, seeing these guys gretty much did the hard work already.

Yea... t88... talk about huge !! Fast spool up and a popular turbo trim for the tC is the t3/t4 Hybrid Trim from Turbonetics. I know a couple of kits use that Trim including Turbonetics and Dezod. I have it and love it but a good turbo is only as good as the tune!

20g, 50trim are pump gas friendly turbos. 400whp is possible with a built motor at least.

400hp? holy crap.. good luck on that.. ive seen a dyno tuning for a tc that put out 426whp, but at 18psi and 103 octane which isnt really for everyday driving, and on top of that he ran open header which you probably wont want to do on the streets..

T3/T4 60trim. Running 30 psi. Run it for about 20 minutes and see how far you can go. Or you could build your motor as realisticly you will not be able to accomplish 400 hp without rebuilding the motor. The pistons in these motors are not designed to handle alot of timing or boost. And you will need alot of both to hit your power goal.

Why would you want 400+ hp in a front wheel drive car. do you want to be a dyno queen or do you actually want to achieve something other then blowing up something like scionspeed did? becasue you are going to have problems getin traction with that much power. But other then that the ZPI stage one kit makes some good power and they are using the EVO III GT 16g turbo. I have a turbonetics turboed tc and i have have also been in a ZPI turboed tc and i like the ZPI kit better.
