tell us what you know about how turbos function, how good are you with the wrench, how much hands on experience you have with turbo cars at the tender age of 16, and then we can reccomend the supercharger for you cause you will maybe know 1 of 3 of the things listed above at your age.

look, your 16, and if your asking a question like that, you obviously know nothing about turbos.

now how you got a brand new tc, and 5 grand for a turbo kit while being only 16 is beyond me, but chances are your parents offered you a considerable amount of assistance, and the first thing you want to do is blow your warranty on the new car they got you with a turbocharger.

u can get a decent turbo for 5 grand... but u gotta get other stuff which turbo kits dont come with like gauges, fuel injecters, emanage... AND if u really have no idea what ur doing, u gotta bring it to a performance shop.. have them install it at 90 bucks an hour... which includes them working on ur car for 5 hours... eat for an hour.... and another 7 hours putting the turbo in ur car while talking on their cell... and u end up with $3400... i'd say stick with no turbo unless u know what ur doing with ur car AND since ur car is still an 08.... and warrenty is something u want to keep as long as you can.... and drax... i wouldnt be surprised if he got his car at the age of 16... lol i actually bought mine when i was 17all by myself

man... whatever happened to the days when parents were actually smart about the cars their 16yr old kids got? when I got my first car, there were 2 things my parents insisted on:

1) Thine First Car Shall NOT be new

2) Thine First Car Shall NOT Cost More Than $1000.00

now I see lots of 16 year olds driving brand new $40K BMWs and Infinitis.... with even more driving brand new civics, Tcs Camrys etc. have parents gone insane or something?

lol... well... those parents have kids that say "daddy or mommy... i want a wii" and their parents go on ebay and sees a wii for a grand, and they go... "well my kids want the wii for christmas so i must get it for them.."

and i think its not a bad idea parents getting kids a camry lol... cause they have a slow throttle and no one would want to race a kid driving a camry.. my first car was a civic... till i started adding stuff to it and my mom got ____ed and bought me my own car... cause her car was the loudest leaving the parking lot with intake i put in

we have a few people that like to have mommy and daddy buy their stuff for them on this site. Pretty sad that you can't afford your own stuff. And when mommy and daddy say no, they pout.

but yeah.. back to the topic... get a job and save the money so by the time u have 6 grand, hope ur warrenty is out.... cause seriously.. its not worth losing the warrenty for a turbo.. but if u must go for a turbo... there is no "best" turbo kit out there... i'd say if u want what u like, what u know how a turbo works, go for a custom turbo

if your looking for a good hp/tq gain.....go trd s/c
if your looking 4 a time consuming yet fun hobby.... go turbo.
but be carefull do research b4 you choose.....a mis/untuned turbo can turn your engine into a grenade.

time consuming. as long as your turbo is installed properly and tuned well, your probability of running into a problem isn't that high.

The way some of you guys treat this kid is pretty disappointing. He asked a question.. you answered it.. then berate him for being 16. His personal situation doesn't concern any of you, and he's part of the scion community. You don't have to agree with it, and you don't have to be nice, but at least show him some respect. All of you were 16 once as well.

eazye325, if you really want to know what to spend your money on.. you need to research it. One thing that you'll learn very quickly is that, while there are plenty of friendly people in the tC community, there's also a lot of people that think whatever comes out of their mouth is right. Keep asking questions, and don't take people's words for it.

If I were you, and really insisted on getting boosted, I'd buy the TRD Supercharger and keep my warranty, and do a little bit more research.

i dont think any1 ment any disrespect......i wish i had a tc when i was 16! a few of us allready stated that research was the best way to determine what he wants....after he desides on s/c v.s. turbo it'll be easier 4 us to help him out. i think most of what was said was people tryin to see if he was new to the tuner sceen.

eazye325.....its ike this bro, if u want to keep your warranty, go trd s/c....not hard to install, still under your warranty! and you can up to a bigger pully in the future 4 more boost(which youll want after you get use to the gain.)200hp/tq approx to the crank standard.

if you wanna have somthing with a little more pull(or alot more if u got the cash) go with a turbo....desod and turbotoyotas seem to be the most talked about kits and thier your best bet if you go in that direction......paul at desod will answer all your questions,if you have any...and his s1 is under your 5000$ limit.....but there will be a few hidden costs (guages, clutch, and minor little things) so get about 1000$ to 1500$ extra....just incase! approx.300+hp/tq

hope this helps!!!!!!!!
