Default which is better 16g or 20 g turbo

i wanna know which 1 is better 4 my scion tc tryin 2 get me numbers right be4 i buy so help a brother out!!!!!!!!

16g is smaller and will have better spool up characteristics, but the larger 20g will have a higher potential horsepower number.

so wat ya say i should go with cuz i go which ever 1 it doesnt matter just tryin 2 get better timin at the track. 1 more thing should i go wit high or low compression pistons

no offense, but it sounds like you havent really researched all of this..

i'm just trying to not let you blow your car up dude.

but yeah, 20g would net faster track times, and low compression is good for boost.

16G - less hp, faster spooling time
20G - more hp, slower spooling time, internals would most likely be needed
Low compression pistons - for any forced induction car
High compression pistons - for any naturally aspirated car

yeah dude, sounds like you need to use that search button a little more before askin questions like that cause there have been many posts about this kind of stuff. and it seems for your situation, it doesn't seem like you're ready to go FI safely

Not just the search button... Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. One can't treat a turbo so lightly on a factory NA car.

The 20G turbo will offer you more top end rush where the 16G falls off a little before redline.

You do not need internals with the 20G unless you are looking to exceed 350whp

well i just talked 2 a friend of mine n he told me 2 get the zpi stage 1 n just get the turbo changed n 2 a 20g turbo so thats wat im going 2 do n im going 2 get a new head block wit low compression pistons. hows thats sound ?

^^sounds good, but hard to read what you are typing. Slang is harder to understand in a text format than it is if you were standing in front of someone, just keep that in mind. Trying to save you from future flame wars.


By the way, we run a ZPI Stage 1 w/16G (didn't have the 20G upgrade at the time), but ZPI's quality is second to none.

please use full words for short words (what is only one more letter than wat, but is way easier to read, same thing with "wit/with") and #'s in words as little as poss. Some CAPs, and punctation would be good too. Again, I'm not flaming, I'm trying to keep you from getting flamed.

You are looking at a ZPI stage 1.5....Stay tuned to the site we will have a few different turbo combos coming out soon. Like Monday
