Default beware fraud*** turbonetics

I was just swindled out of $650 by this guy.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCION...QQcmdZViewItem

I was kinda hesitant to buy from him since he said he would only take check or money order. but i looked at his history and he has been selling for a while with a descent record. i talked to him yesterday and we agreed on the price of $1400 for the kit shipped to me. we worked it out where i would western union him half and he would ship the item. then once i received the item i would send him the other half. well i wnt and wired him the money, then he told me that he was on his way to the fed x store and he would call me back with the tracking number. well he never called me back. i call him the next morning and no answer. so i decide to call him from my house phone, he magically answers now when i call from a number he dosen't recognize. when he realizes who i am he pretends his phone is breaking up and hangs up. i immediatly call him back and now his voice mail comes on. the item that he supposably sold to me is still on ebay. what can i do about this or am i totally screwed. i am an l.a county sheriff deputy, and i called the miami police department. i am working with them and western union to find out when, where and who picked the money.

any help would be appreciated

i saw those as well, and was very reluctant. it looked very enticing, but I had to pass once i saw paypal was not accepted.

honestly, if you're law enforcement, i don't know what help we would be. this is exactly the course of action i would recommend.

additionally, you may consider having an associate pretend to 'win' the next auction, and set up a sting.

i am working with the miami beach police department to track down who picked up the money. first we have to subpoena the records from western union and find out at what location they picked it up at. then we can try and get video tape or license info. but there is a big chance that the store won't have anything useful.

I think the guy drives an acura integra... lots of past purchases... side skirts, fenders, cf hood, diablo mirrors... i'm seriously betting this vehicle wouldn't be that hard to find.

too late to say this now, but never ever wire money to anyone.. always leave some sort of trail when you are dealing with people online.

this has happened many many times.

hope everything works out for you

there's also a xanga profile, this one for a guy named tim in georgia...it's old tho. talks about buying chucks, and the ebay profile shows this guys seems to have a penchant for jordans

Ok I'll call around to all the shops around this area and ask if they know anyone with that name or any shop that has turbonetics stuff
