Default black smoke from exhaust need some help!

ok heres the deal, my car has been popping code P0335 which was the crank position sensor for awhile and here and there it will pop the code P2195 which is car is running lean. my car has been running fine until last friday when i decided to take my car to get my gf. car was running rich like no other but no codes for running rich. i dont have a A/F ratio guage but looking at my exhaust all i saw was black smoke. me and NvMyTc did the resistor mod today worked fined and changed the spark plugs which were fouled out. i also have a extra o2 sensor to replace it if its burnt out. for engine management i have AEM FIC. so could it be the tune which is causing my car to run stupid? or do you guys think the o2 sensor is fried.any help would be appreciated!

If the tune is effed, I don't think it would blow black smoke outta ur exhaust?? Don't really know about Turbo just thought i'd chime in.

*Double-checked*

Black smoke is related with gas/fuel. So there's a start.

If all of a sudden it started to run stupid rich (black smoke) then I would change the front o2 first. If that does not fix it then maybe reset the ECU. After that I would check the FIC to see if anything is weird.

To add, when I pulled his original plugs they were carbon fouled and smelled like they were soaked in fuel...

I replaced his plugs with some cheap autolite ones and the car ran ok for about 10 minutes but then started acting stupid again and shooting lots of black smoke

My guess would be that the 02 sensor is busted which is throwing the lean code, even thought its not lean, causing the ECU to dump mpre fuel, even though its not needed, which is fouling out the plugs and making the car shoot black smoke.

Am I completely off with my thinking?

reset the ecu.

clean the maf.

if you can swap the front O2 sensor.

Reupload your AEM map. Just in case it got corrupted or something.

Black smoke, definite overly rich.

A side effect of running a car overly rich for too long, is you can mess up the 02 sensors. Probably because it can be gunked up with crap.

Not sure if you can clean an O2 sensor??? Never tried. I don't even run any O2 sensors, so I don't know ^^

Keep us updated.

Edit: You might have to get another pair of cheap plugs. Not sure how fouled out they are. Oh and make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks of any sort.

The easiest way is with soapy water. Spray around suspicious areas, and try and turn on the car. Check for bubbles, lol.

But then again you can't turn on the car. So not sure how much that'll help.

yeah the car is going to my friends dad shop tomorrow. he is gonna check for vacuum leaks and what not. check if the o2 is fried. if fried he is going to replace it with the extra one i got. his theory of what i explained to him was that the FIC went a-wire

heres what a good plug SUPPOSE to look like
