Default Blow-off valve Question???

Hey guys heres yet another bov question now im sure someone already asked this but i don;t have the time to search thru hundred's of post's so anyway ...i have a
T-netics turbo on its way and wanted to know if it;s possible to change out my bov from recirculation to atmospheric and if so what are the slight problems that i may incounter like running rich or lean and how do i fix such situation
cause i have a hks ssq that is just sitting here and would love to put it on...if anyone has done this please post a pic or better a video that would be awesome...oh make sure its a t-netics kit too cause i;ve seen countless zpi vid's

Yes it CAN be done, so that answers that. As far as from recirculated to atmospheric, expect to create a brief rich condition each time it blows off.

You'll also need to plug the recuirculation fitting on the intake pipe because it's after the maf and leaving it open will cause the car to run lean because you'd be taking in air unaccounted for by the maf.

Can always get a TurboSmart or Go Fast Bits Hybrid BOV. It's partial recirc and partial venting, so you get the sound and keep the driveability. Also, I heard that there's a way to tune the car so it doesn't stutter when shifting between gears and all.

Alright thanks for all the info....it will certainly come in handy in case of anthing but any vids or pics on a t-netics kit with this done already

Any decent shop should be able to tune your car to run right. I personally don't know how.

Well with the t-netics kit be ready for it to stall alot.


I kinda like that idea of a half/half kinda deal with turbosmart.

stick with the recirculation or go with a dual vent system I dont think paying out your butt to have someone tune ur car to make a pretty sound isnt worth it. Deal with your turkey call or spend the cash to get a new BOV

not got numbers atm, but prior to the turbo it was 140 bhp. and it is the fastest yaris in England

A properly installed turbocharger is not rice.

An willfully improperly installed turbocharger is.

Venting to atmosphere on a car that is not equipped to handle it will cause you to run extremely rich during shifts, give you an awkward idle, and can cause your car to stall.


BUT YOU GET THE PSH SOUND, SO HURTING TEH CAR IS WORTH IT!!!111
