Default boost

I have a 2005 tc and am thinkin about bumpin up the boost on my t-netics kit to 10psi. I have ran the 8.5 for almost a year now with no problems and love it. A soon as I get back from Germany I'm going to take it to get it tuned and thought it would be a good time to up the boost a bit. What you guys think? Will it be safe with stock internals?

10 psi should be fine. I have my MBC set to 9psi on the stock tune and it runs great between 11-12 afr. You will make maybe 280whp at 10psi. I'ts gonna be a pain to get it tuned because they have to update the firmware first. Then tune it. My friend got his tuned at GRD which is the only place around. I think they said they would think twice about doing it again. Call them and let me know when you go. I'll get mine tuned and aligned as well. They have some nice alignment equipment and specialize in aligning dropped cars. If there is a place near the Rock let me know as well. I work at the federal courthouse downtown once in a while.

GRD is where I planned on going. Did your friend have good luck with them? Maybe I'll think twice about upin the boost then. Wouldn't mind squeezing a little more power out of it.

My buddy slapped a gt3071 on his tnetics kit and they did a great job tuning it for 150.00. They were just complaining about updating the firmware. You should call them and tell them you have a couple tCs that need their Unichip tuned. See what they say.

Does the tnetics kit come with a fuel pump? If not you could install a fuel pump and and up the psi for safer AFRs.

No but it come with 630 injectors so that should be fine. 10psi will make less than 300whp.

If you go to GRD, plan to have plenty of time set aside. They are soooo slow. They are very familiar with the Unichip though. Honestly, I wouldn't really bother upping the boost unless you get a larger turbo or 3" exhaust first. You'll probably only gain about 10hp at 10psi

Ill call them up in probably a week and a half when I get back and see what they say. The 630cc injectors are big enough for running 10psi. Thanks a lot for the help. Its good to hear someone else had success with them.

Just do yourself a favor and ditch the unichip.

The unichip is fantastic as long as you have someone to tune it. Much better than the Greddy garbage piggybacks.

Not everyone wants to spend the money on a Hydra. Not that I wouldn't love to have a Hydra though...

Well I guess if you have a tuner for the unichip then I would keep it over a Greddy as well. See my closest tuner was your closest tuner....Chicago...Too far for a tune.

10 is doable with the right tune, gas, and temps. I ran 10-11 at the track with no problems.

Yeah the crap I get out here is 91 octane mixed 15% ethanol. Total junk.
