Default Boost Gauge on steering wheel

Alright...last night I drobe my boy's EVO IX and he had a boost gauge mounted on his steering wheel cover with a sick ___ CF piece that had a single pod for it. Infact mostly all the tuners are going this route...which is pretty sweet

Does a company make a piece like that for ours, or has everyone just been putting a pod on their wheel?

I saw ONE pic of it and it was at night time.

Day/Night pics and different angles would be helpful!

Ehh, not sure how that would work in the tC. The way the gauges are setup in the dash and the way the wheel sits doesn't leave a whole lot of room for an aesthetically pleasing fab-job without getting in the way of things.

Maybe look into digital gauges :D

The only gauge pods I know of are either center-dash mounted, a-pillar mounted, or custom fab'd into the cubby/stereo holes or in a console inside the glove compartment.

that's pretty slick. never heard of one for the tc though. why do you need a disturbingly large tach on your a-pillar

i haven't ripped anything yet. the tc already haaasssss a tach, thus my question.

edit: which gives me an idea. since you have the tach on the a-pillar, you could swap out the oem tach for your boost guage. simple, effective, and unique :p

Well I did a lot of road course racing day/night back home and the tach served a purpose.

as for cutting out the stock tach and puttin in the boost gauge...holy cow...

im gonna have to sit down and think about that one.....it seems cool, but that seems scary

Yea, it does kinda :p

A replacement gauge cluster is only like $150 if I remember right, so that's not TOO bad. It would look slick as hell though.

But if you're going to be doing something like that, you may as well spring for a completely custom cluster :D Make everything match!

hey dont knock the tach, they are very useful and come in handy ESPECIALLY on the race track. Everyone hates on them cause of F&F but the fact of the matter is 99% race cars use them, plus the stock tach is really hard to see

good luck with the gauges, oh and epod or something like that makes a steering column pod for the tc with mounts for two gauges

$129.99 yikes..and no pic of it.. I dunno I think 2 would be streching it, it seems like those are just completely out there and sticking out like a sore thumb. I think 2 would just hinder my view completely. I can see just a single...

I dunno Im gonna give them a call tomorrow to see if I can get a pic or something

Its either that or window tint ...and right now window tint is greater than that. hehe

thanks for the link!

Over 250 new... the HVAC lists over 500... yeah.. not cheap.

But you could get one from a salvage.

Actually, I think making it fit in place of the stock tach would be fairly easy.. An overlay would be needed, but nothing huge there...
