Default Boost and Highway Driving

I was looking at a post about track racing with the supercharger and a question entered my mind. I use my Tc as the daily driver and also use it for road trips that are sometimes up to 2000 miles long (from Oklahoma to Montana). Im not boosted, but like everyone who is not boosted I think about it. Do any problems manifest over long hauls with either a turbo or the SC?

Just wondering.

PS. I drive about 80mph on the highway and its often relatively hot in the summer when I drive, so I often use the a/c.

There should be no issues with highway driving. The intercooler will help with higher temperatures.

I took a trip to Alabama/Georgia about a month after my install and it was about 650 there and 650 back with no problems. I checked everything every time I stopped for gas to make sure things were a-ok.

As long as you dont hit boost it would not be any different then your normal trip without a turbo/sc. Ive driven from MI to KY a number of times and my brother who is boosted went from Cincy to alanta and back with no problems at all.

well....at about 3500 RPM we are crusing around 80mph or something....

w/ that stated....at 3500RPM most turbo's are boosting right?

would this mean for those "long" drive's we would have to be driving under the 3500rpm mark?

Yes but if you think about it, you'll save more gas and run less chance of tickets if you cruise a bit under that anyway.

Boost on a F/I vehicle is load related. If your just cruising you can go a whole trip without seeing any boost, you'd just see a lot of vac.

Yes. You can cruise at almost any speed and not boost as long as you dont floor it to get there. Again youll be fine.

No, you'll still be in VAC unless you step on it. It don't work quit like that but I thought it did too before I got mine.
