Default boost on stock engine

I have the turbonetics kit on my car and am going to get water/methanol injection kit for it. How much boost can the stock engine take?

is that with meth? or just very good tuning?

i always see guys from puerto rico making rediculous power with the same gear we have in the states, and time after time they beat us in hp rating.

I have a Spearco water/meth kit I'll sell you. I never used it. I'd say you cold bump it to 10-12 safely. PM if your intreseted in the meth kit.

No water meth. Just tunning!!! Mine it's a daily driven. I drive for one hour every day to get to my job . This it with 93 octane pump gas and I been running like that for almost a year with no problems at all.

if you have the methanol injection properly tuned and set-up, it is equivalent to running 116 octane, plus you get the cooling. You can get more power with pump gas and methanol injection than with c16 alone. (if u have it set up right)
Believe me, i know. im seeing 10psi now on pump gas, with NO INTERCOOLER.

Psi is irrelevant, its all about cylinder pressure

lets just say 392 at 14psi(3071R) with water meth on a stock motor....365 with out the water/meth kit.

Have fun and just take your time when using the water/meth kit. Start on the low end (psi wise) and slowly turn it up.

Regards-

Todd

thanks for taking me to school... LOL. I've been running methanol for years and I know all the benifts of using it. FWIW I ran 33psi on pump gas using an M15 nozzle with a 220psi pump. I was using straight meth and EGT'S were still hella low and I timing was still very aggressive.

and todd, I understand PSI means nothing in reguards to airflow.. I was just making a VERY general blanket statement.

I know you know that ...but allot of these guys don't

My comment was directed at the general Scion community not you and hoped it would spark some interest. Education is key, and we have to start somewhere.

I run 12.5 to 13.0 all day 11.2 Afrs not detonation. Boost doesnt kill detonation does. When I go back to the Dyno will run 14 for sure.

as soon as everyone learns that boost is only a measure of restriction, and has absolutly nothing to do with hp this site will be a better place, and im not saying you dont know that, but most people on here dont.

turbo - i would run 10lbs daily and s/c 12lbs daily - Those are the limits people are holding at keeping their cars safe. Those are the #'s people have run for years now and had good results. The only issue with we are not sure about is how long 12lbs on the s/c will last for (cause of the supercharger's has its own character flaws).

i run at 14psi on my 30r and 14.5 on my old 16g .... but the 14psi on the 30r is 50times more powerful than out of the 16g. cfm's people!!!! boost pressure is absolute but you are moving MORE air particles per unit pressure (psi or bar) you make more power.

am i right turbo toyota todd?????
