Thank you.
I installed an electronic boost controller to lower the boost in 1st, 2nd & 3rd. With only 1 pass to get the settings dialed in it did pretty good.

I also went to a much better track.

Thanks Tom
When we hit the track with your car we will see what works best.

Thanks!

I have a lot of little things planned but as far as the major stuff goes I will be upgrading my safety equipment with a roll cage & scatter shield.

I want to drop an additional 100lbs off the car. Right now it weighs 2600 with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel.
I want to move some of the weight to the front.

I will be putting an LSD & 3.9 final in the transmission.

And a nice set of skinnies

I plan to stay in the same horsepower range.

Nice traps. Traction and this thing should be real fun. Get the LSD?

The car will be seeing some changes over the winter.

Any questions feel free to ask.

this right here shows that there isnt that much need for more seat time. this is so consistant its rediculous... good #'s mike...

Thanks. No LSD yet - will put one in over the winter for sure.

Starting to get some parts together. Spent a ton on christmas gifts this year

Got everything for my new battery setup and the material to make the scatter shield.

Roll bar is next on the list then I will be working on the transmission.

Will keep everyone posted!

You mentioned a boost by gear setup - which boost controller are you using?

I will not be comparing autox to drag. At all.

From last track visit to the most recent one the only change I made was raceland rear coils. I did not expect to drop a full second off my time from this of course.

I agree with more seat time my short track could improve slightly. A lot? No.

But when I put the car in 2nd and the tires spin immediately to redline then put the car in 3rd and the tires spin immediately to redline that has nothing to do with the driver. The car must be modified to increase traction.

There are not a lot of tCs making 500 tq. I am doing a lot of testing and experimenting on my own.

Its easy to get 250 tq to the ground as im sure you know. 500 tq not so much as you can see in my videos.
i think ecu swap would help the most of any new mod. i got mine for $60. getting rid of fuel bog is amazing. toyota#89661-21510. i believe thendawg said 08+ ecu has bugs revving over 7k rpm or so. N and S auto parts (615) 256-1293

I picked up an Apexi AVC-R.

If you plan on going down the drag strip a boost by gear setup is essential.

I actually have by rev limit set at 6200 on the emanage so it doesnt bog out.
I actually ordered an 08 ECU last year but after I ordered it the junkyard called me back and said they lost it - never got around to getting another one ordered. I plan on ordering up another one this season so I dont have to get into 5th at the end of the track with the camry trans.

My question is, how well does the AVCR work for boost by gear? Form what I understand, the gear compensation in it wasnt actually intended for boost by gear but to compensate for initial boost spikes in higher gears, however apparently some folks have got it to work quite well for boost by gear.

any donkey kick to my clutch or quick shift would sometimes cut me off at any rpm. where does your power peak at? before dropping.

I tried setting the rev limiter on the emanage to 6500, 6400, 6300 etc it would still bog until I went down to 6000. Once I get the ecu I'll go back up.

Horsepower keeps going on the graph I'll have to double check the torque cant remember.

The boost by gear works great and overall the controller works awesome. My first pass with it I dropped 5 tenths from the increased traction in lower gears.
Worth every penny even if you had to buy it new.

Have a few updates. A lot of parts have arrived already and I have a lot of parts on order. These are some of the changes im making for this year.

- Working with Dezod on an AEM EMS setup eliminating the stock ECU
- Installing a custom aluminum intake manifold with a Mustang 75mm throttle body and converting to cable throttle.
- Fabricating a 3" upper intercooler pipe w/ MAF delete.
- Fabricating an aluminum roof for weight reduction.
- Performing further weight reduction to the cars interior.
- Putting a small battery back in the front of the car.
- Ordered skinnies for the rear.
- Doing some aerodynamic work to the front bumper
Thats about it for now - I have a lot of work and tuning ahead of me.

I am still deciding on a transmission/lsd.
