I don't have a TT kit, but my hot side has a 90 coupler coming off the turbo and a 90 pipe that is connected to that coupler going down to the crossmember and going across. Then again, I also have a slim fan, so don't think that route works with the big **** stock fans.

ie.. make as many parts fit the same in as many applications as possible.

The TC SIMPLE hot side piping was dictated by the fact that the new xB, Corolla, and Matrix are all the same.

It helps me keep costs down, which in turn keeps the costs down for you.

The 2.1 piping would work on the hot side, but it costs more.

WOW. not good

its gunna take ALOt for me to get used to that hot pipe across the engine bay like that

^^you could upgrade to the 2.1 piping.. after time... you'll be fine mang! he kept costs down to be able to provide people with quality kits that put down power!!

glad to see your up and running. Im not liking that hot pipe but i would still go TT. Hey it puts down proven power why not! Oh and that weld on the oil pan is hideous. Well GL getting that fixed soon and getting that s-pipe soon too.

i hope it could put down similiar power to the dezod s1 kit...

even with the 90degree bend and 2.0 inch hotside piping

Its something I am considering changing on the 2.1 kits (on the hot side piping) just depends on how things go over the next few weeks. There is a performance gain in it, so we shall see.

^so your sayin that its beneficial to have 2 inch piping going to the IC and 2.5 coming out of it?

^^The smaller diameter pipe speeds up the air going into the intercooler. But yeah, a lot of kits are 2.0 on one side, and 2.5 on the other.

how does the 90degree bend do for power numbers tho

i know in exhaust piping its better to have a straight thru setup than one with bends n curves..wouldnt that theory be applied the ic piping

Anything doing with air flow straight will always be better but I don't see that 90 bend causing much damage to your power.

It's not the 90* bend that's the issue with me. It's the hot pipe being up high over the downpipe - not getting much air.

I know the air inside is compressed and hot anyway, but why add to it with a pipe that's getting hot from engine bay temps?

I'd prefer the pipe from turbo going down near the bottom where there is air flow. Yes, keeping it 2.0" will add to the speed of the air.

In fact I was thinking that if I do a custom kit, I might do 2.25" on the cold side and 2.0" on the hotside. The problem is figuring out at which point you're sacrificing so much volume that you're actually decreasing performance.

i would much rather have that hotside pipe face down... if i order from TT im asking for 2.1 pipes.. that pipe just bothers the shiz outta me.

If airflow is blocked by other things, then it doesn't matter how fast you go.

And no, it's not the faster you go, the cooler the air. Yes your IC is cooling off faster but the air in the IC is hotter from the turbo. The longer the turbo is spinning at 1xx,xxx rpm, the hotter the air gets.

I had time to think , and i think i might be able to hide the hot pipe...

i might be able to route it underneath(clocking the turbo down)...and use the 90*bend coupler on the outlet of the turbo, send the pipe across underneath...use ANOTHER 90* bend coupler and connect it to the pipe directly before the FMIC...

i think it might work

thoughts?

Try it and take pics.. we won't know cuz we can't see the rest of the piping and routing.
