Default Both s/c problems at the same time! (Opinions needed)

A while ago I was looking into buying headers, but then I saw that they might be the reason for the s/c leaking...so i didnt buy them...now my sc is leaking and it also has a cracked bracket! Im not happy at all... Made an appoitment with the dealership, so i'll update as soon as i go...

So it seems the header aren't the problem but instead bad construction?

Hope you get it fixed soon.

He's not the only one headerless that has had an issue... this is not fun for those who do, as it looks like more and more that there is a significant design flaw

Also note that the bracket issue and seal can go hand in hand. If the bracket brakes and does not support the sc properly it can cause the jack shaft to twist which in turn can cause a leak.

Very sad we have had these issues with the sc.. it is a good product at heart, but has a few kinks to be worked out. The vortech unit itself is a very solid reliable unit.

I do wish trd would stop dragging there feet on this though.. they know the bracket can brake weather installed perfect or not..... I really do feel they need to do either a tsb or bring all cars back in for a check up that have the sc. Not that big of a deal.....

Alright......went to the dealership...they had the car for a little over an hour...they said exactly what Garage 1217 just said...that hopefully because of the bracket that is why it is leaking....they are waiting on TRD to call them back, and find out if they can order the bracket by itself or if they need a whole new s/c...

Bracket is a seperate part, but if the seal is leaking it is a slim chance it can be repaired. I have heard rumors the dealership can buy just the seal now but it is not confirmed. Still trying to get the part number or confirmation on that.

Just make sure they know the relax the jackshaft before torquing the bracket or the other pulley end. Once everything is torqued in sequence, then torque the jackshaft.

Why the hell were you driving it if it had a broken bracket and a leaking seal?

Got towed...got a rental...got the tc back....ends up been that a vacuum lime got loose...They said they were going to get back to me on the s/c by friday... To answer; "Why the hell were you driving it if it had a broken bracket and a leaking seal?" It is a cracked bracket, it is not completly cracked...it is still doing it's job...the leak, is not like is dripping a lot of oil, it has about 3 little circles, with barely any oil....If I had an option to not drive it I would, but between college and work I can't.... Dealership agrees that there is a problem, and they are going to take care of it...When? that is my question...
