Default Built Block need a balance??? Carrillo Rods Wiseco Pistons

I currently have Napa auto parts building my block with Carrillo rods and Wiseco pistons....I will also be deleting the balance shafts. Do I need to get the block balanced....Napa had mentioned to get it balanced. Any insight would be appreiated. Thanks!

get the crank balanced.....and have them match the rods and pistons together weight wise so they are all close to the same weight......all i did was get my crank and pistons balanced and assembled it myself.

Yes it needs to be balanced even if the factory says they balanced everything still have it at a minimum rechecked.

The stoker kit I bought says it was balance but I'm have the shop rebalance it even closer so I can have a longer lasting engine and be able to safely rev a little higher.

Almost all engine builders i.e. ERL performance and such will balance it to certain point. This is why I am paying the shop to take it further for safe operation at higher rpms.

balance it and you can rev higher.. thats about it

unless you are doing a very serious NA build with titanium rods or something

you are not going to notice vibrations with K1/Carillo rods and forged pistons.. even when removing the balance shafts

ALWAYS balanance your entire rotating assembly. To do that properly they need..
-pistons & rings
-rods
-crank
-crank pully / balancer
-flywheel
-all bearings

There isn't any reason not to. You won't see professionally built engines go out the door unbalance from the companies that sell shortblocks for the tC.

Thats more on the lines of a lazy excuse.

You're building a performance engine and you want to skimp out on $175?!? Almost any engine shop could do that with a fast turn around. If you can't afford to have it balanced and done the right way you might want to reconsider your project. I'd be pretty worried to see the rest of your build.

I'm sorry I agree with RSracer get it balanced. That is just like reusing head bolts or studs you shouldn't do it point blank buy new ones.

dont mean to threadjack, but for all you guys with built motors already, what piston/rods did you use for your set up and why? Im in the process of researching this and would like to know differences. From what ive seen so far, Piston choices are :Wiseco; JE; CP... any others?

That's often the result for those that don't get it balanced.

It's kinda like that old advertisement, "you can pay me now...or you can pay me later"

there are two sets of people who get their engines built. Ones that are shooting for a safe 330-430whp rating and ones who are looking for a 500whp+ mark. So, you will be getting a range of answers. Which are you thinking so that someone can help you? I would assume the first.

I've used Mahle in a tC motor but in my engine I've got Wiseco. My tuner also recommends Wiseco and won't build an engine using any other.

you never ever ever leave a block unbalanced. that's a recipe for disaster, also, nomatter how much you trust the shop that is doing your work take the thing apart and measure clearences youself, make sure theres no oil or grease on hte wrong side of hte bearings blah blah

double check your double check.
