CAI questions, hydrolocking, filter location
i skimmed through a few threads but couldn't find exactly what i was looking for.
with the filter down in the wheel well where the stock intake draws air from, what are the chances of hydrolocking?
i live in FL and we have been getting a lot of rain lately and im worried every time i drive in the rain. im really careful around puddles but i cant help but worry.

wrong forum, and this topic has been discussed many times, you gotta search.
chances are very small, basically, you have to completel submerge the intake to hydrolock, so don't drive in water that is up to the bumper.
the intake is usually well shielded by the bumper and splash shields from water.
additional protection can be added with the use of a hydrosheild and bypass valve.

ahh crap i didnt realize i posted here. sorry about that.
i really was wondering if it was safer to keep it there or custom route it somewhere else. i was going to take the spash shields out of the wheel well after driving in the rain to see how wet it got in there but never got around to it.
thanks for the help

ha well lately most of the roads have been like lakes. there are "road under water" signs everywhere. its finally starting to dry up tho.
yeah i figured that would be the best place for it but i was just curious. thanks again.
