Cost for 350whp
$4K+ for a kit
$2K for standalone
$400 +/- for clutch
$600 +/- for gagues
$50 + for gauge pod
$300 + for 2 drag radials on current rims
$300 + for tune
$1000+ for install of all
$50+ for boost controller

^ That's bare...

add...

$1200 for LSD
$1200 for stronger axles (if u use your current ones)
$500+ for LSD install
$??? for axle install

There you go. Not so cheap. You may want to add another $1K in the bank in case you blow your motor you want some insurance.

Push for 250whp and go from there. Here's who can choose from...

Dezod
Greddy
Sound Performance (they still around?)
Trendstone
Turbonetics
Turbotoyotas
ZPI

There's a few more I can't think of... the one garage in Arizona is selling or working with and the one Guru's company makes. Oh yeah and stripper is coming out with one.

Notice I put in abc order so people don't cry.
My turbo dreams just went straight to hell.

cmon, you can do it step by step.
get the dezod kit for 4k and install it yourself.
you can ge autometer gauges for about $200 for the 3 you need. run the base map for awhile, then get it tuned for $300 and up the boost a little. in a year you'll need a new clutch and install for that.

You shoudl be happy with that until you save up for some engine work to boost past 350hp.

Yea, you`re right, I was perhaps going too fast. I can get the kit and run that for awhile. I think it would be really fun to drive for awhile and $300 to tune isn`t much at all, so I`ll do that and raise it to 10 PSI. Is that safe? If so, what about 12.5 PSI? And I think I want Defi gauges, they any good?

And Dezod, can you make it where the E-Manage Ultimate come with the kit?

damn dude u have alot of research to do.. take ur time w/ it so u make the right decision.. being on a budget makes it difficult to achieve the 350 hp goal on a tc..good luck!

Just make sure you do alot of research first. It took me a good year to figure out what kit I wanted.
I think 10 is the max without built internals.
Defi gauges are real good, but when i said 3 gauges for $200, i was thinking less expensive, like mechanical autometers.

I would recommend not skimping out on gauges, you want the AEM Wideband, not some other gauge to measure your AFR's... As far as other gauges, Defi / Autometer make great boost and other gauges (oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure, etc...)

you gotta pay to play...

The AEM Wideband Eugo should run you about $300. I got that one, the AEM Tru Boost (also boost controller) and the AEM oil pressure. Those plus the gauge pod totalled about $800 in gauges alone. (well, gauges and a boost controller)

yea, personally I do not like the AEM Boost/Oil pressure and think they are over priced, but can't go wrong with them, just depends on how much you want to spend.

Umm, pardon a noob for asking a noob question, but what's a T-bolt and a worm gear? I just looked up worm gear on wikipedia, but don't get what that has to do with a turbo. :D

Ok, I'm considering it now. How much does it cost for the kit, gauges, clutch, flywheel, and whatever it'll take to get you going to 300WHP?

Are those T-Bolts the actual ones that comes with the pic?

And Dezod, I'm VERY VERY interested in the kit. So, could you take pics of the kit with the front bumper off and show me what the colors of the options are? Thanks.

These are the actual t-bolts that come with the kit. What color options are you referring to, manifold coating options?

I'm not sure if I will coat them, I think it will be cheaper if I did it myself.

I had a little bit of trouble reading this thread do to some of the questions but I was there at one point in my life so I understand we all have to start somewhere. I hope you understand by now what you’re not getting with the Greddy kit and why it’s cheaper. I don’t know if they do this to leave setup options open or to deceive the costumer into buying a product at a better price. Even still, if you go Dezod Paul will set you up with what ever setup you want and spec it towards what your goals are.

I spent $5,200 on my but I had a couple option including the dual ball bearing turbo and a lot of high temp coating. Don’t regret it for a second especially since I’m pulling on my friends turbonetics tC with my rich pre-tuned base map. Can’t wait to see what a little tuning will do after this weekend.
