Default Camry Block with Scion Engine Bay

Ok I used a camry engine with my new motor which I thought wouldnt be a big deal. Turns out the Timing Chain cover has a different mount set up for the top left (passenger side) mount! All other mounts fit perfect. My car is tuned and ready to go but im afraid my motor with fall down, destroying my axles, power steering or even more. I need advice. Has anyone else done this before? Would I need to fabricate something? I need advice not dumb remarks please. Thanks

definitely not the case... in addition to CR changes between models and model years, the 07+ has oil squirters in the crank area that are missing in the 05-06 (which some believe solves the tendency of the 2AZ to burn oil)

i would say compare the mounts and see if a stock tC mount can be modified or check into getting one fabricated...

Ok well after extensive research this is what I've found. You CAN ditch the timing chain cover! The bolt pattern for both covers are identical. The only difference is the outside of the cover where the motor mount attaches itself to the cover. I also found out that the motor I have is equiped with oil squirters that reduce the changes of burning oil. The cover is expensive so i think im going to have a motor mount braket fabricated. Hope this helps anyone whos ran into the same problem or considering using a camry motor.

Motor building company found out in the beginning that even though its a 2AZ-FE from the Camry and Scion tC share the same engine they found differences in the bearing and a few minor other things. This was in middle of 04 when the 05 tC's were rolling out. They purchased parts from the dealer for a Camry with the same engine but found different parts.

geeze... I wish they would not do that.... one of the primary reasons engines are so damn expensive is due to engines that should be otherwise identical not being so, even though they all produce nearly identical power curves.
