Default Can I swap the TRD Supercharger from one tC to another?

My girl is still planning on getting a Super White tC soon after next year (2007). She is still saving up for a down payment. She is planning on just getting a used '06 tC. My question is, can I swap my Supercharger from my Auto tC to her Manual tC? If so, how hard will it be and how much will it cost? I think I already know that there will not be any warranty after the swap, but if the dealership does the swap, do you think the warranty will be in effect for the swapped tC (hers)?

Should we go through all this or should we just go ahead and get a used 2006 Honda Civic Si?

i know there's a fit kit for the autos, so yes you could swap it minus the fit kit (not sure what it consists of). Then you'll need to reflash her ECU at a dealership or send it off to ZPI

Don't forget about the ECU reflash.

right now there is a stop sale for the trd supercharger for the 07 tc. they had to change some things while changing emissions for the government and the sc will not perform right with the new changes.

I think it'd be VERY difficult, if not virtually impossible to find one since this is the first year of the new model. Also, I'd bet that if you could locate a used one at the time you're considering purchase, the cost would still be far more than a new '07 tC.

Otherwise, sure, go ahead and get the SI, as it's a better (and more expensive) car than the tC.

I actually found 2 in the paper around here in Sac/Elk Grove going for $19,000+ with 1600 miles on one. I said to myself, "Dang!"

Based on various car reviews (all said the same except for edmunds), I think you'll enjoy driving a supercharged tC far more than a civic Si.

That's really hard to believe, I'd suspect something is very wrong with those vehicles, if you can believe the ads. If you're able to find a good one at that price, buy it! I think you could turn around and sell if for more the next day.

It's not for me. But I'd like to drive a different car too. So if my girl gets the Si, I can drive the Si whenever I want and the S/C tC whenever I want, instead of always driving my tC and then her tC....get it?
