Default Can you run Unleaded gas with a TRD SuperCharger?

I know if i was to turbo my car id have to run synthetic oil and premium gas. If I throw on a super charger instead can i run regular unleaded. I really dont wanna run premium with gas prices shot up like they are although id prefer a turbo. Also what add ons besides the supercharger will put me up to 230whp. I was thinking ...supercharger, s-pipe, exhaust, and headers would put me pretty close.

All gas is unleaded......I think you meant regular. And if I recall I think you are supposed to run premium with a supercharger.

Leaded gas is still around and cars still use it; it's only for track use, though. It runs a lot higher octane than unleaded gas does, and it's safer to run on turbo cars at the track because it doesn't detonate as easily as unleaded.

Actually, around St. Louis, they jump up 15 cents per grade now, and in some spots I've heard you can expect to pay almost 50 cents more for premium than regular. The difference of a tank of regular and a tank of premium, at those prices, is the cost of a meal for me.

But still, if you're _____ing about high gas prices, drive more efficiently.

It's $.20 more here, and I fill up at about 12 gallons which = an additional $2.40 a tank...not a big deal considering how your PROBABLY going to loose mileage anyway, boosting all around town!

And I think you get better mileage with a turbo then SC cause your are only pushing more fuel in Turbo when your in boost, and you can stay out of boost pretty easily.

No I don't. I can siphon your gasoline while you're at work. Make a clever rhyme for THAT!

A supercharger will add more heat into the engine and the higher octane will help control the heat so your engine does not detonate. Detonation or "knocking" is caused by heat or lack of fuel and it can destroy your engine if left untreated.
Detonation sometimes is silent, so even though you do not hear any knocking sounds, your engine still might be detonating. This detonation will burn a hole in your pistons or even cause your rings inside of the engine to fail.
