Default CDI capacitive discharge ignitions

I have been looking into this and the concept seems like it would work well for forced induction. Any of you guys have any experience with this? Is it worth it or is 10psi not enough boost to worry about ignition upgrades anyway?

you should need $700 worth of coils for 10psi. it would be cheaper to buy the coils off a Tundra (i cant remember which engine fits) since they output more charge.

i was under the impression your stock coils can be used and the capacitive sending unit is all thats required?

sorry, i thought you meant the ones all over ebay. i would think that adding a module from the ecu to the coils which already have circuitry to convert RPM to spark would possibly damage the coils in the long run IMO. This module would have to replace the coils to even be useful from an electronics point of view. I'm sure someone else here may know more about this module than I would.

well it replaces the spark thats being sent to the coils, works just like your standard inductive system except that it has the ability to be faster and fire off multiple sparks because of the extra electricity stored in the caps. So with this you get 5 sparks instead of 1 in the same time, up to 4000rpm or so and then time doesn't allow for it. I've seen the hks system on many high power supras and have been wondering if its any benefit to a much milder setup.
