Clutch Masters Stage 5
Why is it the Clutch Masters Stage 5 is the cheapest of all their clutches? (other than twin disc) This really doesnt make since to me. If you look around you can get the stage 5 for around $320 whereas the stage 2-4 are all around $400. Hmmm So has anyone here used the CM stage 5? How streetable is it? How much will it hold? I tried searching aorund and only found peopel using the stage 2 or 3. Im doing a manual swap and want to go ahead with something now that can support my built motor goals of 350-375 whp - think this clutch would handle it? Also a big thing is how it daily drives - i drove a 5 spd all my life until this auto but never have driven anything other than a stock clutch in my personal car and a ebay stage 2 in a guys si that i drove - his felt nearly stock - but i wouldnt expect much from a stage 2.

Man Ptuning does have a good price on the cm clutches - $380 for the stage 4 and $320 for the stage 5 - i figured out why the stage 5 is cheaper - well have a theory - is because its unsprung - dont know if i REALLY want an unsprung for daily :/

Seriouserly? Thats like a clutch for $360 for the stage 4 Carbon - how much power are you making? Also which street clutch from act do you speak of - they make liek 3 that have street in the name

Built motor - Wiseco 9:1 pistons, k1 rods, acl race bearings. Current turbo setup im using on my auto except ill be upping it to about 14 psi Its a t3/t61 turbo with basically a dezod piping setup (but using blow-thru maf). Im shooting for mid 300's. Looks like ive narrowed it down to maybe the act or the cm stage 4 still deciding - oh well i have about another 30-45 days to decide pbefore ill have the money to start buying parts

Its a GT35 compressor and wheel with a T3 journal bearing center section and a .63 turbine with stage 3 wheel lol Basically a poor mans GT35 As for manifold - its a Cast manifold im using at the moment - but im grabbing a megan replica off of here for dirt cheap that i plan to work my magic on and use with the new setup

stage 4 clutch hold about 400. i have it in my car and i love it! have not had any problems with it! i would highly recomend the clutchmaster clutch!!! dont go act! everyone knows cm is the best! just save yourself some trouble and buy the good stuff from the start! and deff dont go with a stage 5!! absolutley horrible for daily driving! the stage 4 is even pushing it for daily driving! i would find it a paint to have to drive my car every day! i only drive mine about once every 2 weeks now!

i have the clutchmaster stage 4 in mine for about 3 months already about 6000 miles and still running good in combination of the stock flywheel to keep daily drivability. clutch pedal is no as stiff as i thought it was gonna be and daily driven, it isn't so bad esp after you get the hang of how grabby the clutch is.
