Competition Clutch twin disc installed!!!
Well guys we installed the prototype Competition Clutch (CC) twin disc on ScionGT35R's two months ago. It was shipped to us by Paul@Dezod and backed directly by the Engineering Dept@CC. I didn't posted before cause I wanted to make sure it was holding fine for some time.......... and IT IS!!!!!
We recieved the prototype setup and had to modify the flywheel during the installation as it hit the transmission housing. It is fixed now and the feedback sent back to CC so when you order one you will not need to modify anything
We modified the transmission clutch fork for the CC throw-out bearing cause we felt it was a possibility that the clip that holds it in place could slip out and cause problem. This might not be needed after all but since we know of applications where it happens we went ahead and did it since it will not negatively affect the fork if we ever go back to a "normal" clutch (not that we plan to.........)
The installation involved removing the clutch switch located behind the cluch pedal as instructed by Competition Clutch. We removed the switch and disabled it so the car now starts without the need to press the clutch pedal down. This allows the engine to start without the crankshaft being pushed by the pressure plate/ flywheel. Since when you crank the engine it still has no oil pressure, modifying the system to start without the switch sounds like a good thing
After adjusting the clutch as per CC instructions we went for a ride and everything worked as expected. It drives like a stock clutch (no extra effort needed to disengage the clutch and it sure as hell holds like a ****....
+500hp @24psi burn-outs and tire spining in the highway in 4 gear prove it holds the power!!!!!!
I hope Robert takes some new videos of the car

NICE, ill be talking to chris at CC 2morrow to pay for my twin disc that Elevation aka Mike is going to put in for me, he had told me about the flywheel issue and he fixed it, hows the engagement feel? im so excited to get this in.
Do you think we should have the fork modified as you did or should i be fine?

It doesn't chatter like the previous Clutch Masters stage 4 with 4 puck solid disk but it grabs hard. You need to get used to it.....
On my Sentra I have a new ACT Xtreme pressure plate with a solid 4 puck disk that I would very happily trade for a clutch like the CC Twin disc(soft on the leg and holds the power): but that's just me
On another note: we trashed an CM 6 puck sprung disc after reaching +400hp and an ACT 4 puck solid disc 6 months after that!!! The next streetable option is and remains a twin disc!
The modification on the fork will be a decision for you and your mechanic to make. For having no negative effects on the fork and preventing me from removing the transmision unnecesarily for a misaligned throw-out bearing I will do it over again and again.

With two discs it has twice the area of a single disc. So they made them with 2 very small disc and a small diameter pressure plate. This results in a very ligh clutch/flywheel combo with more power holding capacity and less leg effort!
BTW.... it comes as a combo along with the flywheel because it no longer uses the stock type flywheel.
