Default Copp3r tC Build motor out! *9/3* upd

Took the car last night to my buddy Justin Linders shop last night where I will be pullin the motor and building it ...

dayummm she looks pretty on the trailer! Dezods got parts on the way !!! I'm EXCITED!


Update 9/1/06

Last Night I got the motor ready to pull today - just a few more things - axles/shift linkage/AC etc just a fewww items.




and a QUICK sic pick of Justin's car cause it makes me drool.


Update 9/3

After ALOT of work - this thing was a biatch to remove:

Comin' out after beatin me up

Bruised - cut up - tired - out of caffine - and covered in engine fluids the hunter and his kill...

Weeee!

It was def NOT easy to remove...

The harness from the ECU out to the fuse box actually travels between the motor and the intake manifold which has a large plenum on the bottom. The axles were a bit tough and the half shaft had a support bolted to the back of the block as well.

It was just difficult cause there are so many wires/hoses/hardlines (the power steering pump on the BACK of the block* it was just hard to get to everything.

I disconnected alot of stuff but doing it myself it took me about ummm 16 hours total?

lol.

Given I've never fully pulled a motor myself cause I've had assistance, this time I'm going solo. This was my first toyota motor pull.

wouldn't of been easier to drop the engine from the bottom along with the k-member

i think thats how they do it at the factory...

If I had a lift maybe - looks like it was setup to pull that way. Under the car = no DIY unless you can get the car high enough.

However - I think it would have been just as difficult really. Just would have to worry about the ABS unit getting clobbered ;)

can u take pix of the intake manifold, if u can manage to sneak a pix lookin at the plenum
