Sooooo tonight, the problem came back with a vengeance, out driving around doing some 3rd gear tuning pulls, and suddenly -30 ltft, however afr is still at stoich. So I pulled over, and right on the side of the road, put my notebook on the roof and popped the hood. I had scanxl up on the screen, watching the ltft and stft. I started messing with connectors to see if it was a short. When I played the with maf sensor connector, low and behold it suddenly cause the motor to surge and fuel trims began to go back to normal.

After further investigation - it appears the clip on the maf sensor had broke. Obviousely when i replaced the sensor I mustve missed it, but having pushed it back on good, it caused it to work for awhile. During pulls, the piping moves, more than likely causing it to come loose again Luckkilly I have another plug from the spare wiring harness I have in my garage that I scavennged to do my semi wire tuck when I had the motor out Thank god I finally figured this damn thing out!

Now im still planning on redoing the maf setup next week to go to a better holder with 2.5in piping to improve throttle response, however after playing with diff injector delays, i found that 730us seems to be the best Tell me how that makes since? Oh well it gave me the best tunability, and by far the best throttle response :/ Well new maf holder and 1100cc injectors coming end of next week so ill be playing with the injector delay again than!

OH MY GOD! Dude I think u found my problem as well. I've been having this problem for like the past 4 months. Generally when I'm about to hit boost the car get's really rich for a split of a second (jerk) and then carry on like nothing happened. The map on the FIC is darn linear and still. A week ago I decided to clean the maf and do some other stuff and the car started to work perfectly all of the sudden. Worked great for a day and last night I went for a tuning session and half way though it started to do it again. I also noticed that cruising at low speeds and barely pushing the gas the sf1 might go to -13 from 0. Reason this might be happening is because of our DBW and the engine might rock a little.

I know for fact the maf connector clip doesn't clip anymore and I have a cooling box separating the air filter from the engine bay and it rubs against the maf connector. It least me to belief that it's pushing it away and loose some of the contact somehow. Man I really hope this is it. My wife has a tC as well and I've been lucky enough to swap all kinds of parts to figure this out.

All I had left to try was the O2 which I can't cause hers won't reach (cuz) of my set up, or messing with the maf wiring. I might remove the box or zip tie the connector to see how that works. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I'll be able to install Descendants 3in exhaust and I'll be able to try her O2 if the maf isn't the problem.

Man am I excited

Sweet! Glad I could hopefully help As ive noticed, as it starts to come loose it starts going a lil out of whack, than when it really comes loose is when the crazy ltft happens and throws everything way out of whack I know what ya mean about being lucky - I have two of almost every part for the tc lol you should see my garage - its a tc boneyard

thendawg, I'm glad that you have apparently found the problem. It seems a little odd that a CEL was not set but perhaps if only 1 of the 4 connections came loose, it might not set a DTC. I know from experience that if all 4 connectors are open the ECU will set a DTC immediately at ign on.

As for the mysterious FIC IRT setting that even AEM tech support doesn't know how to set correctly, .73ms sounds reasonable considering that mine should have worked best at 1ms but seemed to work better at .80 ms which is the same as the oem injectors latency at 13V.
