no prob, you can pm me anytime. I noticed your picking up the aem f/ic. Good luck with your build. P/S my idler bearings are shot, i'd recommend you change those, I don't know the sizes off hand, but those should only be a few bucks each.

I must have put at least 150 miles on the car so far. It has been cold here in Chicago, in the 40's, and its my first winter with the s/c. I'm running the 7psi pulley for now and it sure does feel fast with this cold air. Everything seems to be holding up fine, the shaft is bullet proof i'm not worried about that, and the bearings are much better than stock so they should hold up just fine, the bearings are the weakest link in this design.

so wait how can u change the bearings alone, can u just unbolt the idler puleys and pop out there bearings?

if so let me know when u get numbers for new ones cause i might as well do that too lol...

yea unscrew the idlers, pop out the retaining clips and out come the bearings. I won't have a change till wed or thurs to do it. Then i gotta find out what better bearings to get lol. The bearings they use for this supercharger are a joke! I need to change mine quick cause i looked today and there are already metal shavings coming out of the bearings.

Oh i know why it happened i put on a higher psi idler pulley LOL,

I found out officially that this won't fit the 07+ s/c as it has a longer shaft.

My mistake, its been a long day midterms, i misinterpreted the information I was getting from someone. I talked with Kikcaffine on the phone and he has assured me he has seen both shafts side by side and they are identical. Sorry for the confusion guys.

I won't be able to take pictures, because my s/c is already back together. But i will make some instructions and if bridfi can take the pics that would be great!

The shop said they ordered material, gonna be a couple days till they get the hardened metal in, then they can begin the shaping, balancing, welding etc.

I'll try to get an update tomorrow.

Well the bearings arrived today, I tried to get an update from the shop, but they were closed for Presidents Day today, so I'll find out something tomorrow.

Have some good news and some bad news. Good news is that the shaft ends are done. Bad news is that the shaft itself, the middle part, is made of a special 3440 steel, and the company that makes it is on backorder, the shop is on contract with them so they can't buy the steel from anywhere else. Shafts will be ready in 3.5 weeks! There is nothing that I can do, the shop was ready with their part and put the order in for the steel and found out today that they have to wait. There is a possibility they will be done sooner, but that is the expected date. I will keep everyone updated and pass on anything I find out.
