He is referring to the grease that is applied in between the bearings, this is of course after you install a grease fitting on the pulley housing.

Mine was actually packed with grease from the factory but much easier to do with the fitting in place after the rebuild.

I have some good news! I have gotten a lot of emails and requests for shafts and I have decided that there is enough interest to make another batch of shafts. I will be talking with the machine shop this week and trying to get things setup.

If you are interested please let me know gompka@tcsuperchargers.com, the initial deposits will be $250, just as before. We need a minimum of 6-7 people to make 10 shafts, if i can get 11-12 deposits I can make a full 21 shaft batch.

Unfortunately, if we only get 10 shafts made I will have to charge $475 instead of the $440 as in previous batches when 21 shafts were made. This is because in these cases it cost more to make less. If i get 21 shafts made, all people who deposit before shafts are made will get the $440 price, all orders after will be at $490, just like in the previous batches.

Shafts can go into production as early as next Friday, once in production it will be 2-3 weeks until they are ready for shipping.

I am taking deposits as of right now, paypal $250 to gompka@tcsuperchargers.com or pm me for my mailing address if you want to send a check or m/o. If you are able to pay the full amount now, I would appreciate that as it will help get things going. Unless I get enough support to make more, I am only making a batch of 10 shafts. I was able to get the price down to $460 per shaft for a batch of 10. These will also include the woodruff keys and the loctite 680 in addition to the shaft and bearings.

Final price will be:

$460 via check/mo
$475 via paypal

Please email me if you have any questions: gompka@tcsuperchargers.com

2 shafts have been payed for in full already! 8 left. Now is the time to get these if you need one as I only make them once a year and it takes a lot of cooperation from the scion community to get enough orders in to make a batch.

3 shafts sold and 7 remaining. We still need 3 more orders to get the production going, if turnout is good enough I may be able to make 15 shafts instead of 10. Thank you to everyone who has already ordered.

4 shafts have been sold and I have 6 remaining. As long as I get two more orders by next week, production will be on track to begin next Friday. Thanks again to everyone who has ordered. Also, thats for the kind words from supporters as well as customers, I am glad I can help everyone with their s/c's.

Today is the last day for preorders, I need 1 more order by the end of the day to get this batch going. Also, after today the price will be going up to the regular price of $490.

Good news for everyone! I was able to get enough orders in to get production going Friday. A few people have asked me if i can extend the pre-order price because they are waiting to get paid. Since the shafts are not yet made I am extended the $460 pre-order price until Friday. Also, I just gave the ok for a total of 15 shafts to be made so I should have a few in stock in the future.

That would be a waste of money, as the properties of titanium would not be an advantage in this situation. The main advantages of my shaft are that it is made to more exact tolerances and it is balanced to prevent vibration. The bearings will always fail sooner than the shaft.

Yes titanium should be more expensive, but a wast of money depends on who is looking at it. My main thought was not a stronger shaft but one with weight reduction. Is the shaft not part of the overall engine's rotational mass? See what im saying.....just a thought. I would have asked for aluminum shaft but ..... we know what happens to a steel shaft =) Let me know if you can get a quote on a titanium one off. Thanks!!!

You are not the first person to ask about rotational mass. However, there are many other factors that play a much bigger role than the weight of the shaft and its effect on rotational mass, if you pick up a small percentage of response you would be lucky. The shaft is already fairly light as its hollow and the tube is pretty thin. You are better off running more boost or increasing the revs of the engine. There is pretty much zero chance i can get a single shaft made, i asked for a favor and I had material left over from the previous runs and didn't have to buy material for 25 shafts like i usually do. It is not worth it for most shops to work with such small quantities, they usually like to see 100's if not 1000's of orders for a part. Time is money and it takes time to retool, reset, and recalibrate the cnc machines. I would be happy to discuss this further with you via email or PM

I can vouch for the lightness of the shafts, you will not gain a huge % mass drop. Also remember steel isn't evil, it has some great life properties many other metals just do not. My materials teacher often said if steel was as rare as titanium, it would be treated as a wonder metal because of those properties.

End of the day steel is usually preferred for shafts for fatigue issues, why you do see Al blocks but steel crank shafts.

I am waiting on an update from the machine shop and should be getting some news soon. In the mean time I put the orders in for the bearings and the woodruff keys. Lof-tite 680 packages came in on Friday.

Shafts are at grinding/balancing. I'm hoping to have them within the next two weeks.

I still have 7 shafts that will be available for sale, get em while they are still priced $40 lower!
