Custom Supercharger Shafts !
#861
I have 2 shafts still available. Shafts should be done soon, I should be getting and update from the shop before the end of the week. We experienced some production delays coupled with some major storms and power outages in the Chicago area. I do apologize for the delay and I really appreciate everyone's patience in the matter. Scion community amazes me each time I have a group buy with kind words, great questions comments, and a great turn out.
For anyone who is wondering, after this batch we will have sold 70 shafts in total since the first batch. We are glad to be helping the scion community and we hope everyone's superchargers are doing well. Feel free to ask us any questions about supercharger, shaft, bearings etc. You don't need to buy a shaft in order to get some tips or your questions answered.

Hello everyone, good news! Shafts are done and are shipping today. I apologize to everyone for all of the delays, but it was delay and delay for us on this batch. The shop made a couple of extra shafts for me so i ended up with 19 shafts instead of the planned 16. We still have 4 shafts left. Thanks.

All shafts shipped except for a couple I am waiting on payment for and one assembly that was being rebuilt. I emailed all the tracking numbers to everyone's email addresses I had on file. If you did not get your tracking number please check your other email addresses or message me and I will forward it to the correct email. Again, i still have 4 shafts left, so those of you that still need one are in luck.

One last thing, i also sent out installation instructions to everyone, please let me know if you need these, if you got a copy of them before please refer to the new copy as I made some small, but important changes to the instructions.

Just keep a close watch on the bearings, as long as you keep them cool and keep grease in there they should last quite some time. Unfortunately, with the way this is designed they will eventually need to be replaced. I would recommend replacing them every year. Good news is replacements are about $17 per bearing.

Awesome SC fix
My TC has been off the road for 3 mos. due to bearing failure on the shaft side. I just received my new shaft with bearings from Gompka. This was well worth the wait . The total time to reassemble was about 1.5 hours. My TC fired up on the first try, even though the battery had been sitting for 3 mos. without a charge. The supercharger runs ultraquiet, in fact, I cannot remember it running so smoothly, which tells me the bearings were probably on their way out for quite some time.
Per Gompka,, I installed a grease fitting in the bearing housing to extend the bearing life. Other than the shaft replacement, there is not much you can do to prolong the life of the original shaft and bearings as the original design and manufacture is just pathetic.
If this aftermarket fix was not available my next step was to remove the supercharger and bring the car back to pre-SC condition. I could not be more pleased with the result and recommend this fix to anyone with a supercharged TC.

Possibly need shaft within the next few weeks
i found a used supercharger kit (almost complete) near by recently. at what i think is relatively inexpensive. includes everything except the air intake ( ill just get the weapon r ) and it also needs the system management. but to be safe i was going to have it rebuilt and was wondering if that is also something you do, the area im in isn't exactly the most tuner friendly that i know of so i cant find any shops that can do it.
thanks

This product is GREAT!!!
I had rattling noises in my SC / engine bay for years. Only until recent months the rattling became so extreme I thought my car was going to explode lol. The idle would be very very rough, i could hear the bearings knocking around all over on pulley side and the check engine light even came on. I had another post where turning on the A/C made loud squeaking noises as if the belt were bad. At the point i stopped driving the TC and bought a Gompka shaft.
Reinstalled the shaft side with new bearings, the grease fitting, and new shaft. What a world of difference! Never has my s/c sounded so smooth, the check engine light went away after reconnecting battery and hasn't come back so far. My AC can turn on without the belt sounding super sqeaky! I wish i had done this through his first batch. I am usually a skeptical person but i'm glad I put in the money to get this. Now I enjoy driving the tC again and not embarrassed of the loud chattering noises.
FYI: I got the actual s/c rebuilt through motorsport 928 a year ago hoping that would fix the problem, but it didn't solve the issues i was running into.

I have 2 shafts left in stock, also someone recently brought to my attention that the composite disc between the shaft and blower on their unit was worn down and was causing vibration in the shaft/supercharger. This is something that is very bad for both the bearings on the shaft side and blower side, please take a look at your composite discs to make sure they are snug and there is no play in them.
The replacement is vortec p# 2D070-260 Composite Drive Coupling
