You might as well, the stock one shrinks down to 2" at the point were it meets the mid-pipe. if you are just bumping your exhaust up to 2.5" you could just get an Invidia S-pipe($160$ + ship).

The S pipe is THE most restrictive part of the exhast. If you were only going to do one section (S-pipe, mid-pipe, axle-back) it should be the s-pipe.
Another reason why I like the TT kit...it INCLUDES a 2.5 downpipe AND s-pipe (3" for a small additional fee)

i was wondering, if i had to build my intake piping would it be wise to have the MAF plugged into a silicone piece?

im thinking buy a longer silicone hose, cut a hole stick the MAF in tehre and have it "clamped" or soemthing.

yeah our MAF is a little $%#@&!it doesn't like being messed with, your best bet would be to buy a steel one from Dezod.(50$)

Hieu Nguyen
to Treadstone

just out of curiosity, why don't you guys sell the downpipe with the manifold? is it too much of a hassle to sell it when you guys already include it in the turbokit that you have for the tc? as a friendly suggestion, you should start selling the downpipe as well as the manifold...you would make quite a bit of money as opposed to telling customers that we have to make custom downpipes to mate up with a manifold. being as they both are crucial parts of a build, and depend on each other in terms of location and quality.

now for the real reason I sent this email, the bolt sizes of the manifold aren't listed anywhere, i was wondering if i could have a true bolt measurement. i went out and bought some 8 mm bolts but they aren't correct.

^^ just to keep you guys updated with the whole treadstone incident as some of you might want to choose their manifold in the future.

In a way it makes sense if you think about it. they will sell you all the parts for you to put your own kit together at half the cost BUT you still need the down pipe...buy it from us? they say...well why don't you just buy "our" kit?

also the pipe is not universal ,the one they make is only for the T3 turbo it comes with, the TC's kit has no option for a different turbo unless you call them up and order it, at which point a different pipe is whipped up and included in the kit.

its not just treadstone...Dezods manifold only fits their down pipe which in turn only fits their S-pipe...

bastiches...

but the treadstone downpipe mates up with the stock spipe and to my knowledge the compressor of a garrett t3 turbo would be the same size as many other t3 turbos so their downpipe would meet up.

i dunno. all i know is that having the option at a normal price would have been so much nicer.

treadstone does not give u a different downpipe if you upgrade the turbo. and they're not sure if the one that is in the kit will work or not. ill let them know in the spring lol.

The thing is, it has taken numerouse calls and emails just for them to agree to sell th downpipe. Untill last week, they just said, "no, we dont seel the downpipe seperatly."
But you can get one from dezod for their kit.
