I doubt it pulls 29 deg of timing. Our cars max timing (that I've logged on a stock TC) is about 35 deg.. if it was pulling 29 deg you'd be running only 6 deg of timing.. and I doubt your engine would be running well like that. The stock TC idles around 12-16 deg.

Not only would your car not be running right, but you DEFINITELY wouldn't be making 290whp.

Oh really.. what were you using as engine management to advance your timing?

As far as I know, we can't advance timing with piggy backs.

cant we advance timing with fic or emanage? i thought we can, its just tricky coz we retard or advance starting from the stock ecu timing and the values we put arent the actual timing itself

i think you can add timing i think it works like a spark hold if you iknow what im meanin so instead of altering the stock timing it holds it till the next one so that you can have more control maybe sounds good in theory right?

^^ why did you reflash you ecu when its working fine? its a trd reflash? i think theres a procedure to reverse it, garage1217 did it

when i had the emanage, i can see negative and positive numbers on the ignition map table so i assume the negative numbers are the degree retarded from the stock values and the positive are the degree advanced from stock values..

are you taking bout the spark dwell setting? im not sure how it actually works as an option to altering the actual timing but i think very few piggybacks can do that

I don't think the tuner was very up front with Marcelo.

ok so went back to my tuner to smooth out the a/f a lil cause of the timing well its looking a lil better but couldnt exactly flatline it cause of the timing ofcorse lol. but i made more power i did alot of runs i just dont know how much lol but i did around 20 plus street tuned it cause my car kept stalling when i would hold the clutch down and let the rpm drop at high rpm's. so anyways i made 280 whp and 300 ft-lbs on like the 30 something run lol! on the graph it was the first run that i made 280 something on whp and ft-lbs and then the final run when we said ____ it no more lol.

What I mean is that he couldn't have pulled 29 deg of timing.. that would make the car utterly useless.

At most people pull about 1 deg per psi..

OBDII program shows timing in degrees.. doesn't show you how much is pulled.

What exactly did you see and which OBD scanner did you use?
